Chasing the chase, tell me your secrets

I've had similar experiences with HT...seems like every time I order just 2 of something, one of them is reg and the other is the chase! Could be coincidence but it has seemed to work for me. I have yet to find a Chase in the wild...Only other Chases have been random from ordering online, or standing outside of countless Target stores (hello Shinning Twins) hoping they had one!!

Ok - I'm going to try to order one of each. I don't do the physical camp out outside of SDCC anymore.

Just remember that it's a huge gamble! I tried to do it again, and wasn't so lucky. But I wish you luck!!!!

ive had yet seen a chase in the wild. I'm thinking the employees at targets and Walmart I go to but them up and put them on ebay

The only Chase I have gotten in the wild is the 8-Bit Demogorgon at Target. I have 5 others I've gotten from ordering pops online and just got lucky. 1 from Hot Topic, 1 from Gamestop, and 3 from Amazon. 2 out of the 3 from Amazon had creased and minor dents on the Pop Box. Amazon, I think does a good job packaging the products as I never see any shipping damage. I personally think the dents, dings, and creases are mostly from storing it in their warehouse, with some possibility from shipping. Oh and I only order from Amazon if it's both sold and shipped by Amazon. From my experience, the 3rd party sellers aren't as trustworthy to send Chases.

Buy 6 at a time, Trade with friends and other collectors the extras. Maybe “cheating” but it allows for collectors to trade more

Just purchased Sasha walker from Funko shop for $22.00
The “limited” Funko shop pieces can drain your bank, slap a limited sticker on the box and charge $5.00 dollars more. It’s Brilliant!

When I hunt for chases I never find them. When I go to the store for something else not Funko related I find chases. Guess if I don't try they will come to me

This is true for me too. As soon as I cave and buy something online, afterwards it’s in EVERY store!

The only luck i had was when i hit more than 50 walgreens in a span of a few weeks to find the Green Goblin chase. Maybe only found it because someone left the crushed box. After that, no luck. Would you guys say that weekends are pretty bad at finding chases? Seems like i should stick with ordering online mostly

Thats true. I guess my logic was always that maybe more people shop on weekends so there's more traffic? Gotta keep trying though and figure out some pattern. Though i hear that the stores around me have their designated flippers so i probably wont win there

Same thing happens to me. I decided to wait now until its flooded. $15 - $20 chases still not bad.

I thought it would get easier when all the ratios went down to 1/6, but the flippers got so bad in my area that it no longer became a problem of finding them, but being at a store when it first opens in the morning before anyone else. And my job doesn't allow me to do that . Oh well.

My first Chase was maleificent and it was mailed to me by hottopic. The first one I found in the wild was also a hottopic and I walked in right when they unboxed Frodo Chase. Honestly if you want a chase that bad pre order it from a legit pop company. I have tried to track down chases but honestly it all comes down to commitment and luck

I must admit, I do wait before stores open when I really want one, but I have found chases in the wild many times. Vegas has a ton of locations to check tho, 14 Targets and even more Walmarts... GamesStops, HotTopics... just a lot of chances that others dont get.

I find it easier to get chases at hot topic and boxlunch. Just follow them on Instagram and they usually post the items they get in. Target just find out which day they get shipments and remember the dpci(someone usually post the number). Fye it varies by location but I find it easier to find chases at night(when my local one stocks) some stock earlier. Amazon you have a chance at a chase but make sure it’s sold by amazon and not third party

That’s terrible, I think it would be better if pop’s with chase variants came in mystery boxes like the mini’s. This would eliminate a lot of the sketchy stuff going on behind the scenes.

I think what helps me is that my job requires long hours with one break given in the middle of the day. That one break though is 2 hours and that give me a great chance to hit most of my local stores that are within a few miles of my job. Last year alone I found 31 chases. Occassionally I go out of town and always do a hunt wherever I am. A few weeks ago for my birthday we went out of town and I lucked out and found a Chase Hefer, Chase Dopey, and Chase Luke Skywalker on speeder all in the same Barnes and Noble. But that will proabably use up my luck for the next little bit since I found Jafar, Yzma and Black Panther already this year too.

TLDR hit the stores earlier in the day and hit them often. Know release schedules and follow similar stores on IG. When I see a Hot Topic in California getting pops that can have a chase I know to start hitting my stores 5-7 days later.
