This is a great point. Funko made its mark at the ~$10 price point for a collectible that may hold greater value later. The die-cast go into the area of like Tamashii Nations and S H Figuarts lines, which imo offer a better bang for your buck.

I agree I think funko history has shown that under 20 dollars for an item is where they sell the most.

I do like the Die Cast pops. I like their weight and the display method.

And I am glad that they only come out slowly, since they cost so much.

That said, I would like to see them expand beyond the obvious best selling franchise/licenses .... wonderwoman, batman, ironman, captain america, black panter, darth vader, boba fet, mickey mouse? But I understand why they started there - best chance to find buyers for higher priced items.

I think they should also have a Comic-con die cast each year as well.

I find it difficult with the chases because they are already pretty expensive and trying to chase hunt is hard. Plus it's difficult to get rid of dupes if you do chase hunt because they weigh so much! Probably better in the long run to just buy the chase if you want it.

Agreed, which is also reinforced by all these movie moments they are making that are above $20. Every store I go to I just see them sitting around collecting dust. Also on those the bigger boxes lead to an increased chance if shipping damage. And we all know most collectors won't touch a pop if the box isn't minty fresh  lol

I think a Disney Parks Exclusive would be nice to see a Walt and Mickey with a bronze chase. It’ll look like the statue

I wish they'd make more, but without the chases. Idk, the chase "all metal" look isn't so appealing nor really wanted, but I don't want to speak for everyone. As much as I like the Marvel ones, I wish there was consistency with the packaging and the numbering.

As I was reorganizing, I noticed while I was unboxing all of them that Iron Man and Captain America are on a light grey platform with the numbers #1 & #2 and then when I started unboxing Thor and Black Panther, both had a black platform with #5 & #6.

My guess is that the numbering is for ALL diecast - no matter what the fandom is, but I wish it was just consistency throughout.

Overall, I'd still get the diecast figures if they continue to make Marvel ones :)

I think because these are technically a higher end product and a little more expensive to produce. It makes sense that they wouldn’t produce them at the rate they would a regular Funko pop. They probably have more planned but I’d expect fewer to be produced bc of what they are

One reason pops are so popular is because of price point. Not everyone wants to shill out 50 bucks for one piece. I get it.

I think diecast might be the ones that people pass on but in the long run will be something that will be coveted. Only reason I say that is because there is realistically a low amount compared to the vinyl ones. I picked up all of them except the darth Vader so think I need to get that one for my collection. :freddy2:

I really like them but have to be super selective in buying based on the price point. I enjoy the display case and it being a heavier figure. I do agree the chases on these are lazy and I have no interest in them. If they were a different colorway etc I may be more inclined to hunt for those. I do hope they continue but more selective in characters and more effort with chase variant for sure. I am still hoping they make a Freddy.

I actually like these, however the chases are very lazy (might have turned people away along with the price). Id be happy if they didn't even have a chase. Im hoping they do a freddy soon :freddy3:

I agree, I like their weight and display and packaging was awesome, price was a bit pricey but as long as they didn't release too many too quick I was fine, but once they started adding chases to the mix I was out, too pricey to be trying to get both.

I honestly think these would fly off the shelf. And hopefully they go back to the only production numbers with lower counts so they don’t sit on the shelves.

Megazord is one of the coolest!
