sort of. There's a Batman character in the Red Son story. Hard to believe, but he's an ever bigger bastard in Russian.

It's a really well done story. One of my favorite Superman stories.

I pre-ordered in May thinking I wouldn't be able to purchase in-store. And even shipping within the same borough - I was charged 8.99 plus tax for shipping.

Midtown charges shipping based on the total amount of the order, not size or weight.

I think they just charge a flat $8.99 for pre-orders...I ordered a single Red Son when it was first announced then decided to go back a few weeks later and get a couple more, and Midtown charged me the same amount for shipping both times.

Mine is coming today...can't wait to put him right next to Kingdom Come Superman!

Same here. The order status says shipped, but it also says no tracking is provided. You think we would at least get tracking for $8.99 shipping.

OK... rant time:

Box arrived from Midtown Comics today... BULGING like it was overstuffed... Barely bigger than a pop... Opened it up... of course box was crushed window was creased and ripped in one corner... Too much packing paper was placed on top of the pop causing the box to bulge and of course when they tried to tape it, it crushed the box inside because of the pressure..

For 9 bucks shipping for 1 pop I would expect a comics and collectible establishment to do a better job.

God please dont tell me that. I'll be furious if thats the case and request a refund. If not you could always do a charge back then again you wouldnt really be able to buy from them again.

Got mine in today. Ordered 2 in hopes that it wouldn't be shoved into a box that is too small. Still not luck shoved 2 into a box and smashed the living s*** out of one. Oh well cross midtown comics off my list to order from. May you never get another exclusive as long as you are in business. Some people should just not ship items.

As much as I love Midtown Comics their shipping is garbage and the price is ridiculous. When I use to order my comics from there they come in horrible shape, same with my toys.

Since the store is only a train ride away I'd rather pay full price on something and carry it out the store myself. Today I did pick up a Red Son Supes so no complaint there.

I got mine today. Luckily, it arrived in perfect shape. Here are some comparison photos with a Gemini package that arrived today as well. The left is from Gemini, the right from Midtown. Midtown's box is definitely very snug.

I can see why the they were getting crushed. There was barely any padding in the Midtown box. However, there was plenty of bubble wrap in Gemini's box.

Midtown had tiny slivers of packing paper shoved under the pop, which didn't really providing any protective cushioning.

So i have yet to get a tracking number from them. On their site it says shipped but no tracking number is listed.

My tracking number was sent two days after it shipped. It must be on a delay.

For anyone in the New York area, I stopped by multiple Midtown Comics to look for this. Both the Grand Centtal and Times Sq ones had plenty in stock (also had GitD SDCC Stay Pufts)

I noticed that each of the boxes for the Red Sons were in pretty bad shape. 1/20 were in decent shape. Also most paint jobs were subpar. Red son seems to be quite the disappointment :/

Just out of curiosity, but has anyone requested a replacement box for there damaged box. Just got mine and the box was over packed and the back of the box is a little squished and has a couple of tears.

That's the plan for now. Set him free. But for 9 bucks to ship you just expect a little bit better.

It's really a great piece...from a cool comic. Yes the shipping is too high, but your still getting the POP at retail pricing.

Their customer service really blows. While they could have easily sent me a replacement box... I have to return the whole item to them so they can send me a whole new figure. I had to argue with them to get them to cover the shipping cost BACK to them when it was their fault. They are quite ridiculous. I will see if I ever get the replacement...
