Look into DecoColor oil pens, lot of collectors seem to use that as the best way for it not to smudge and stay long term.

You’ll probably see all other sorts of recommendations in this thread too though.

Great advice thanks

In the past few years this has really gained momentum. I'm personally a fan. What I'd like to see is more diversity of those signing. There seems to be a circuit of folks who go to cons, or do professional signing events, and it's kind of normalized. Maybe some new folks that you don't typically see. I think many would default to A-list celebrities but there's a lot of potential here to see mainstream actors (live or voice) do more signings.

That's genuine respect for others and I thank you for doing that. And I feel like in the last few years the culture of actors engaging with fans. It is a bit sad but I hope it to change.

I like doing autographs but I try to stick to the dragon ball voice actors as much as possible but it never works out. I have some from jjk, fluffy, one piece, and more

I do like getting my pops signed when the opportunity presents itself, but I do not go out of my way and seek them out. Do you guys prefer box signature or on the figure itself?

For me it is based on a few factors like situation, financial and the actors. I like to say if the opportunity comes to me I'd take it but if its gonna take alot out of me then I'll pass

Mine are always on the box on the window. I have about 700 signed ones in my collection. But it all just depends one what you want. On the box isn't for everyone.

Normally the box window. There would need to be something unique about the pop for me to want the figure to be signed. For example, Prince Robot (Saga) has a TV for a face and the blank TV screen would be perfect for the author’s signature.

I have some pops that have multiple signature. I have one that’s about out of space on the window so if I get more signatures they’ll probably be on the top or side of the box.

That signature on the TV is indeed a good idea! I will rethink my signature strategies in the future! :happy11:

I'm not sure. It would be my luck that the sharpie type mattered, lol (smudge).

I like having a few autographed pops, I just dont do personalization. I feel like if i dont know the person long enough i just feel like the personalization isnt real for me since i dont know the famous person personally.

Pen type actually matters alot, Always use an oil based paint pen. regular Sharpie doesnt look as good and fades. Deco or sharpie brand Paint pen is what I always stick with. They come out clean and bright. Then you want to pick a color that stands out from the pop or matches from the pop. On my OG Goku I have orange, On my Ui goku I used Silver. I used red on my raptors Mascot (vince Carter)

Paint pen sticks out and your best to use Fine or medium tip.

Some of them do, I used to be really into autographs until the price for Autos skyrocketed after Covid. With quotes being extra now for alot of VA's I dont do quotes to much anymore. Some people went way to far with quotes and had people writing paragraphs on pop which caused quotes to be charged by the number of words. Ive seen some where 1-6 words are 20$ and every 6 words after are an additional 20$.

Some people have quotes on the front window and some use the side window for quotes.

Alost VERY IMPORTANT TO LET THE INK DRY DRY DRY. Wait a couple minutes before putting the pop away, Dont wave it around as it might make the ink run.

I personally love the quotes, but I like to have them pick the quote if possible! I feel like they look at me and decided on a quote based on that, and in my mind it makes it a bit more personal!

In 2 months, there is a Convention in Germany and I might go there to see my childhood idol, Robert Englund.
I just need to get my Freddy Chase signed by him irl.
fyi the CON in Germany is about a 3hr drive for me, so it is do-able for me.

Definitely like getting my pops autographed by the actor/voice actor/artist. Just an extra special memento for me to display in my collection.

I used to get my anime pops autographed but nowadays voice actors are charging higher for funko pops and even more for a quote. It’s just not worth it unless it’s someone that I really really want.

I get what you mean, I remember when Cons has free autos and at most autos were 25$ Now some of the Side characters charge more than the main characters. I saw one where the VA charging 85$ and he wasnt even the main Character in any anime!

Wow, 85 bucks - would they not be afraid no one buys? I would be so embarrassed to sit without anyone coming to my booth. But then again, I guess that is why I am not on TV.

Getting signed POPs is always a great experience.
My last autograph was Michael Keaton - Batman.

To Get a Michael Keaton Pop would probably be one of the few pops i would like to get. Not a big auto guy, but he would certainly make me get one for sure!

Its crazy, I went to a con Yesterday and some of the Voice actors were charging 50 for anything not a figure, 80$ for a Pop 20 extra for a small quote 20 extra for a drawing and 40 extra for a long quote.

The guy in front of me paid 120 for auto quote and drawing.

Im not one to question how you spend your own money, If it brings you joy then go for it. I personally get autos on my pop because its fun to meet the voices of my childhood. But soon its just going to be to expensive for my to continue down this road
