Too Many New Anime Chase Pops

I have never been much into anime...but my daughter love Fairy Tail and MHA...

The problem with chases is when it with companies like Hot Topic which seems determined to be terrible to international customers. With no bundle option you are left with few options, especially if you are a person who works at a regular job.

Item is presale - nope, chances are you order will get cancelled. Shipping rates are insane and in my area you have an hour lead time before stores open to know what is releasing and by that time the professional buyers are already lined up and ready to flip those items for x5 the regular cost.

Bundles FTW!

Interesting, I didn't realize that. If that was the case with the majority of them I wouldn't mind buying a case.

I sure most of us would much rather buy just two and not have to worry about buying 6 and reselling 4. I get the chases are sometimes really hard to get but can also be annoying when you really want one and have to buy a set or do lots of driving places to get it. In the end it is cheaper and easier to just buy 6. I found it is much more fun to just buy what you want and not try and sell, flip, whatever you want to call it.

Some things like Godzilla or Dinos I don't mind (well except for ther space they take up) having an army of them, but otherwise it is a hassle to buy the case when you just need 2 and now have 4 to trade, gift, sell, when you do that too often it becomes a hassle and space consuming.

They can keep doing them as long as they are unique. Same Mold Glow chases just don’t do it for me anymore, like the New Black Clover Luck is BOSS.

Yup that’s what I’ve been doing, less completing and more broad of WHAT Characters I NEED and that’s it. Like Black Clover I’m ONLY Getting One Asta, One Yuno, and One Noelle. There’s only commons but I know exclusives will happen for how big/popular the anime is.

Yeah, I remember one piece being such a small set a year or two ago then boom, with the recent addition and almost every other mold has a chase. Just doubled.. think tripled the number of pops in the line!

This post aged far too well, it seems like there’s a lack of restraint that’s backfiring on everyone. Ever since around this time, the amount of chases have skyrocketed and no longer feel rare to collectors. I wish they relaxed a little more [-o<

I don’t mind all the chases. But I also don’t collect every anime line. I limit it to fire force, sword art, attack on Titan, one piece, and demon slayer.

But yes the last month has been expensive

With you on this one. Too many of the same character, going to try to keep it down to 1 per character. But I know there will be some new mold down the line that needs to swap out. At least some of these animes are starting to wind down, so might be more maintainable.

Yea and that’s what they have to do, for sure money going that route and they are a business after all. Not all their products hit but they know almost all anime will especially with chance of a chase.

Totally agree. I think they should’ve done Katakuri with a chase, could’ve been him without the scarf showing his crazy mouth!

My local groups have dwindled in excitement for any pops except the Animie pops and especially the chases. Funko knows there is high demand there.
