Wheel of Time

Postby snowsiren » Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:00 pm

The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills... and I have been waiting for this book series to be a TV show for almost TWO DECADES.

So... where the Pops at? Which characters would you like to see in Pop form?

I haven't even seen the first episodes yet but I am so pumped for this I've already been itching for some Wheel of Time Pop!s for weeks :D

And now that I've seen the episodes, I would LOVE a Lan and Moiraine set in Pop! form!

Episode one was pretty rough, but it got better from there. Would be neat to see the character designs that the Funko artists come up with for the show!

I just watched the first 3 episodes and would say it does give a Lord of the Rings ribs with a mix of Captain Planet LOL. I think as long as the show continues to be great and pushed by Amazon I could see Funko doing pops. :freddy3:

I agree, big fan of the books and enjoyed what I have watched so far. But have any Amazon shows other than The Boys gotten Pops? They need to loosen up on licensing.
Please Funko make Taylor Swift Pops!

Most wanted non-Taylor Pops: Carson Teva, Naru from Prey, The Last of Us TV show

Fair point, I'm not sure :/ I hope they'll be able to get licensing for this one.

I actually went the opposite way on my first viewing, where I loved the first episode (probably in part because I was just so dang excited to see these books on the screen) and kind of tapered off as it went along (still enjoyed it, though!). But I noticed I was spending more and more time picking out changes and trying to think about what would come next and not focusing on what I was seeing >_<

Best advice I've heard for the book fans has been to watch once, process that it's different, then watch again. I'm planning to do that before the next episode comes out, now that I've been sitting with the first viewing for a while. Wondering if my experience on a second viewing will more closely match up with what I've heard from others, including you ^_^

It has been decent so far, that is a good point about the pops though.

I think they should pair the Aes Sedai and their protectors as a 2 pack of pops. :freddy3:

After watching the first few episodes, I picked up the first book. I feel like there's going to be a lot more I'm missing from the TV series in there, so can't wait to dig in!

Some folks have been saying the original book material is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more exciting than the show itself!

I never got through the entire book series (I stopped in the middle of book 4). Those books are about as thick as the GoT series. Maybe I'll start again but in audio form. Things might go a little quicker, I hope.

The books usually have more than what they can put into a movie, if you are a reading type of person then you could enjoy it more.

I do like most movie/tv series adaptations of books (really wish they would re-make Eragon..), but it's really hard to compare, honestly. There's more emotion and so much more that you can really only put into words than you'll see on the screen. I've been really slacking on picking up new books, so I gotta get back in the groove!

I liked Eragon, the chance of seeing these happen should increase with more seasons happening. At least, one would think so.
