AD Icons Numbering Officially Broken

So bummed they officially broke the Ad Icons numbering system… . Fred Flinstone w / Spoon Ad Icons #146 received in the Pop & Tee combo box & Play-Doh Pete Ad Icons #146 from FOF / ECCC / NYCC. I even double checked by opening the Tee shirt box to see the Pop box inside. I know most won’t think this is a big deal…. But for us in box collectors and especially for the completionist and OCD collectors in our family this is annoying…

How do they not just have a system that they can all look at to make sure they don’t number the same number twice to two different pops?

They did the same thing for Star Wars, too - I don't remember which ones, but I definitely remember them doubling up on a number.

i'd be shocked if there was a line that hasn't had the numbering messed up for awhile now at this point.

Like I said most probably don’t care but the completionist on me really enjoy the numbering aspect for different molds. It helps me to keep them organized in order for display Yeah I’ve seen other lines have the dupes but Ad Icons had avoided it all the way to 146! I mean they skipped some numbers which they’ll probably never go back to but they hadn’t had two molds same number yet I don’t think until now.

Just take some white out and change the number to a new one, its fine then.

it could have been that they produced the product and then had to destroy them? i'm sure someone knows the story or it could have just been human error at the factories?

Such a interesting find and does make me wonder what might have happened. I know with Ghostbusters they skipped 107 I believe when rolling the original line out.

Well - lets not go through big lines, case in point the Pop! Die Cast line has two 01s already and currently, there are only five known characters so far

Sadly, these stuff happens - maybe just consider it as an error instead

To be fair, we ran into Brian M. on the floor at SDCC a few years back and after some pleasantries and thank you's we asked him about the numbering process. He started to mention that they leave certain numbers open in different series in case they need to add certain characters and sometimes licenses fall through so that number doesn't get used...and then he kinda trailed off and basically said he wasn't sure

So I stopped paying attention to the numbers too!

I never even realized it. I stopped completing sets so it wouldn’t bother me.

The only line that ever made sense to me numbering was ad icons honestly now that that is wonky numbering means very little now.

I thought they were your specialty?? Maybe you should start... I think the only time I notice numbers is if I'm organizing them and putting them in order, but since I'm rarely complete it doesn't really bother me...

Likewise most of the time its a license approval, they have the numbers locked for items. By the time it reaches for approval the item could be rejected or expired. Stuff happens and I ignore the number sequences

Ah, this makes sense. I rarely pay attention to the numbers, especially for newer releases, where the numbering is more a shock value to me with how high the number is now in different series. I definitely have an appreciation for numbering in the older POP!s, especially the Rock/Rocks figures.
