That is totally fair. LOL Thankfully, looking at it this way, it isn't a gimmick as much as part of the character.

My collection at this point is too big and so when I get new ones it has to be one I don't have yet, like if its a variant I need to chose one to keep. I have a few of the same characters especially the HP ones. Like for real how many Harrys and Rons and Hermoines does one actually need LOL
Gotta love those pops :freddy2:

Obviously...there needs to be a few more. LOL I was the same way with some sets where I'd keep the GITD variation of a common...but then I've gone back and picked up the common again to make sure I am complete.

It's totally an arbitrary set of criteria, but I love it and I have so many people who have pointed out the new Godfather and Lightyear Pops coming that fit the bill. I think I have them all (except that darn Analyst from the Matrix that I can't seem to find), but it is fun to hunt them down (and why there is no Sally from NBC holding a cat, I have no clue).

So...anyone else have a very niche and highly arbitrary collection?

My wife collects purple pops. The character’s skin or clothing has to be fully purple.

Right now I’m specifically looking for Disney Store logo pops. They’re the first edition Disney pops. I’m missing 22 now. Slowly but surely I’ll get all of them. The series 1 pops are the hardest to find right now

I think it definitely comes along with the territory for mature collections. Be it space constraints, funds, etc. I’ve been collecting since 2011 and have parred it down significantly over the years to pieces that have some meaning. First Pop (9” sdcc buzz lightyear), unique design concept (like headless ned), Funkoween or Fundays I attended in person, or childhood nostalgia (mr dna). It brings focus to what was originally a hodge podge of fun at 500+ Pops down to now less than 60 and I continue to refine down as time passes. What sparks joy!

I don't know if it's that "specific", but I enjoy buying a specific pop associated with a specific memory at the time, such as a trip, or new job, etc.

I love this! The specificity is awesome - cats, ramen, purple, archery, 58. And yes, have to be careful with space and only get what makes me happy.

I do find I try to get the Pops holding a mini helmet/mask (i.e. Tony Stark holding the Iron Man helmet, Punisher holding the little Daredevil mask, etc)...there aren't too many of them so that helps :)
Keep the MOTU line coming! :cherry:

I did just add The Analyst Pop this weekend, so I do need an updated picture.

As specific as I am, I saw someone on Reddit who had a collection of Pops holding snakes. It was eclectic.
