Die Cast? How do we feel about them?

What is the general feeling about Die Casts among the Fukofunatic Community?

I actually like the way that they display - they feel protected but also totally visible. Easy to open if you want to - not like a pop protector, where once it goes in, I dare not try to open it again and damage the thing I am trying to protect.

And I like the weight of them - they feel substantial!

But I get that they also cost a lot more. So, maybe best for special characters or product lines.

Where do we think they will go next with future Die Casts?

They are just fine! I wont make habit of getting all releases due to cost but Ill be picking up characters i need

I'm ok with them. Only have Captain America right now and probably will be very picky on which other ones get released. Even though they're "different", I can't justify 1. Collecting outside of my Fandoms and 2. Owning a reprint of a pop.... essentially.

Same bro only have Iron Man at the moment and i will also probably very selective as to which ones i do purchase specially with the higher price point.

Well I have all the die cast except for the Darth Vader which I will get eventually. Got to say I do like the chase ones but think maybe different colors or maybe even slight color differences would be nice like chrome or gold. Or gun metal black would be awesome

Totally agree that the Chase could be other kinds of finish - the pewter / silver is cool, but not so much if all chases are the same.

I think they are great on characters that make sense, with metallic bodies like boba fett or the mandalorian.

I really enjoy the quality and material of the die casts. They are heavy and cost more so I'll be very selective with this line. As many have said, maybe only certain lines or even certain characters.

I like the die cast and leaving them to iconic characters. The outer protector is so neat with the etched on label. I hope they make some disney, like Mickey or Maleficent (yes I’ll ask for Maleficent everything !)

I overall like them, but I am not a fan of the price point for a common type of pop that has already been made before. I would like to see limited numbered editions and maybe like one offs for fandoms. These are unique and need to have different editions that go with it as well.

I like the quality of the Pop and love how they've made the cases. Yes, pricey and yes, selective going forward. I understand the thrill of the "chase" but for me these are just too expensive to really try for a chase. If I buy it, it's buy one and done and hope for the best.

I only have the Iron Man die cast so far - I'm a fan they just haven't done any others that I collect yet. Will be all over if they do any BTTF. I highly doubt they would do it (would probably be a $100 pop), but I would LOVE to see a die cast Time Machine...just seems right to me

I feel like this is a bit of a luxury line for Funko. The material is higher end, it has a very nice display case and the price point is higher. I'm still not sold on the chases, but have really liked the look and feel of the figures.

I used to collect die cast figures a long time ago and would like to see Die Cast Pocket Pops! I know Funko can do it and I am hoping they make them.

I enjoy die casts that actually make sense, e.g. the Iron Man or Boba Fett. But unpainted chases are lazy and do not appeal to me.
