Yes, it was hard to justify the $80 price tag. Most people I know who liked them waited to snag them during the BoxLunch Money promotional periods.

Hikari were very niche, I know people that are almost complete on all of them minus LE1s, I also know a regular collector would walk right past em.

I agree with you. I think they were a lot more niche, not for most Funko collectors, especially since many are drawn to their low price per piece cost point. Especially since many Hikari were at a much higher price point on average.

For the style and the quality, it was very nice and arguably worth the price point. But I could see how if you weren't really into that style many wouldn't feel it was worth it. I think they were meant to try and bring people who were more used to buying designer vinyl pieces into the Funko market.
