Out of Box Pop SECRETS?
If you're a pop collector you collect either in box, out of box, or, like me, you may live on the wild side and collect both in box and out of box. Over the years I have found pulling my pops out of the box leads to some secrets or reveals I would have never noticed had I not removed the pop from the box!
What is your favorite pop out of box that held a secret that you didn't know until unboxing it?
My personal favorite is Krampus! The little kid in the basket on his back is great!
I can't wait to see what others post so I can learn a little bit about some pops that I may not have! This could also go sideways, this post may lead to me spending a lot of money!

I liked the back of Classic Running Sonic and how it shows his speed in red waves. I've seen some other ones that are pretty awesome.

A couple recent ones would be the turtle shell backpack on the TMNT Freddy and the Hall H backpack on the Hall H Freddy.

Another feature I really like is there is a Captain America pop that has a shield that can clip to his arm and also can hang on his back. I think it might have been the civil war figure buts its been so long ago that I checked.

Ever since I saw y'all make that video, I had to check mine and my mind was blown. Definitely one of my favorite detailed ones I've encountered.

Dr. Finkelstein and his moving hinge (although I think he is packaged with the hinge up so you can see his brain, right?) and Professor Quirrell are two of the best!

Really fun thread. The one surprise pop that made me chuckle when I took out of the box was Pulpo.
I am not in danger, I am the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

A lot of boxes have hidden phrases printed on the flaps, like the Mad Max series.

Re: Out of Box Pop SECRETS?
This is what happens in a culture that promotes box collecting...somehow the actual design of the toy gets lost/unseen and the sculpt itself is now a "secret" ...just take the things out of the boxes, it's MUCH better that way

I am both in box and out box collector, but did you know? that the OG Blue box Darth Vader and Yoda (11-12). If you charge the light sabers with black light flash light, they will glow.
I am not sure if this happen with the newer production with the black box, but nice to know.

Guess I can’t contribute and name a pop that hold secrets, we never open our boxes. I hope this thread continues and continues, maybe some of our pops will be named and then we’ll know what’s hidden.

With Otto making a recent appearance as a SDCC 2022 Exclusive, I figured it worth talking about him. Both the Pop and Soda form of him are holding an 8-ball in the right hand.
There's a bunch of pieces that follow this trend. One of the Aladdin pieces has him holding a loaf of bread behind his back, like the scene in the movie.

This isn’t a secret but still an OOB feature, the wig on NYCC red dress Okoye was a cool accessory.

And even some of the details on the inside flaps of some boxes that you wouldn't know unless you opened the POP box and look at the top and/or bottom flaps. For example, various quotes said by "The Office" characters, the slogan "It's finger-lickin' good" for Colonel Sanders, and "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." for Inigo Montoya, and many others with Easter eggs.

I store my boxes in a bin and the keep my funkos in the inserts and put them in a clear pop protector. I find this keeps the funkos safe and you are able to display them fully.
