Ahsoka is the one Star Wars character I’m completist about, so I’m hoping this turns up some place I can attend.

Lol it’s definitely going to surface at some point. Whether it’s at this years fundays or the next hall h event; they will definitely drop it. I’m still genuinely confused how some even slipped out through the cracks

That's a fascinating story. What happened on site is that Funko failed to obfuscate the boxes properly, so once the sharks smelled blood in the water and knew what boxes numbers meant which pops, they started mobbing the distro area. This with the fact that Funko and CCI got their wires severely crossed on distro (Funko stated at the panel it went until 7pm, but distro actually closed at 5pm when the convention closed) and THEN it got so intense the fire Marshall had to evacuate certain areas of the distro hotel because of the mass of people trying to scam and trade as people exited the building, plus all the people waiting for "box 5" to show up inside with Ahsoka since by process of elimination all other pops were figured out.
As always rumor traveled fast, and the volunteers handing out the pops are just that, volunteers, as are most people at SDCC because CCI only pays a very tiny handful of people (we saw this when their tax info was leaked last year) none of which were on site at an offsite distro. So one of the volunteers after closing obviously found the pallet with the box 5s that never got broken into (because distro didn't last long enough to get to them, they were apparently in the very back) and opened a box and stole a couple ahsokas out of it, at least two we know of.

This is wild! Now it makes more sense with your explanation of events. Thanks for the 411 on this topic. Definitely planning to stay longer on Sunday to make sure I don’t miss anything.

That's a crazy story! I volunteered last year for the retail distribution, but I was only part of the crew that did the SDCC con only merchandise like the shirts and stuff that was only sold with the SDCC logo on it.

Sounds about on par with most of the things they have done lately. Just another event some kind of enforcement had to be involved. .

With SDCC 2023 a few months out, perhaps they’ll just bring it back? Considering the sticker already says Hall H, I think that would be ideal for SDCC tickets holders already hahaha. I’m certainly saying this from a biased standpoint btw. I’m sure many can agree too hahaha

Johnny Lawrence? I’ve see quite a few for sale - pretty sure you can check eBay for one and snag it. The pop was pretty sweet and I think it was LE500?

Yeah that is another possibility. But they would still have the hall H stickers on them unless the just put the other sticker over top.

we all hope it comes out
Lol it’s definitely going to surface at some point.
Source: I work risk management and asset protection and have consulted with both CCI and the San Diego Convnetion Center via the City of San Diego previously.
I was staying at the Hyatt and saw all the chaos. I had no idea this all happened. It explains a lot. I am a huge Star Wars collector and Ahsoka was the only one I really wanted. The others were cool, but that was the one I was hoping for. I still have never seen one.

One sold on eBay, and one was auctioned off for over five grand on a Facebook live? auction I believe it was.

If there's a box-of-fun this year, my guess is that we see it at Fundays or maybe even put randomly in the online BOF. Imagine it being in the online BOF, that would cause some sort of hysteria LOL
