Are Chases worth the Chase ?
Overtime I’ve noticed chases aren’t much different than the actual common/reg variant! Feel as if they gotten lazy with the chases lately! For example: Speed RacerChase, Samurai Jack Chase, and Luck from Black Clover Chase are all different molds other than just having eyes shut or open as the difference! Don’t get me wrong I still like going on a hunt but the lack of detail in the difference of the chases have had me feeling swindled

To me it was a big deal going chasing after chases. It was fun and exciting. Not so much anymore. Although I find Soda chasing much more challenging. Especially that they are not bland on the chase design.

I agree on it being more fun to hunt for few years back, just definitely not the same these days! Sodas are very more challenging indeed! Whenever I pulled the Thor soda chase I was ecstatic

I kind of agree with you. It is a difficult decision BUT as a collector I MUST HAVE ALL OF THE VARIANTS or else its not a complete set

Right but then it gets out of hand when so many variants start to drop.

For me it depends on the chase and how much difference it has between the common. Sometimes I will pick it up but most time I don't.

I agree. The thrill of the chase is not the same as it was a few years ago.

Does anyone remember the 1/36 Grady Twins Target Exclusive Chase? That was a tough hunt.

Re: Are Chases worth the Chase ?
chase hunting has been so tough for me (not even lately, but for some time now) but the thrill of being able to catch one when you're not expecting to is the best! and also playing the 'lottery' with ordering a possible chase online from Funko shop... alas, haven't been able to

This is exactly how i feel, which is why i switched to sodas a few years ago. Now i've even slowed way down on that. Got to be picky now.

Re: Are Chases worth the Chase ?
If it's a line I collect I normally just buy the Chase on the secondary market.
And I wouldn't call certain Chases lazy. It costs money to create a new mold so from a business standpoint it makes more sense to just make a Chase metallic (I miss those Chases) or something with minor changes.

Re: Are Chases worth the Chase ?
To me chases are much easier to acquire now then it was when we started in this fandom 8 years ago. Which is okay in my book, . Differences and similarities depends on the actual chase variant when comparing it to the common variant of the same character. If it’s a chase in a line that I collect then I’m going after it.

Re: Are Chases worth the Chase ?
I still love the thrill of the hunt for the chase. If it's a must have chase I will normally buy a chase bundle, but I love ordering a Pop online and getting the chase.
I also don't need the chase to be too much different. Something like the Fight Club chase is amazing (I bought so many Tyler Durdens and still no Narrator) but I really love the new Care Bears and those are all the same mold, just flocked or glitter or glow.

I love the chase for the chase and the chance of having a unique pop that much less people have. Almost like a shiny in Pokemon, slight variance but still awesome.

No. The effort is not worth it and my lack of sleep to line up is too precious. Most end up under 30$ after a bit so i just wait it out and buy if i need it.

Re: Are Chases worth the Chase ?
I love chases. I don't care what the difference in them are. I have this weird aspect to me that whenever something is a chase, or limited, or exclusive, or hard to find, or numbered, etc., I switch into some other hunter mode and I need to acquire it. I'm like Smithers with Malibu Stacey and her new hat. You could take a rock, paint it blue and say it was exclusive, and I would say "what hoops do I need to jump through in order to get this rock!?" That's why I love SDCC so much. The entire thing is like one giant hunt/chase.

At one point in time I felt the exact same way, as long as it’s an exclusive I wanted it! I like the painting a rock blue analogy

I had a lot of fun back in 2016-2018. Now it's kinda hard to find one and to many people camp outside the stores.

Back in the day it was a big deal to me to try and find one, it seems way less important now with the volume of releases. You can always get another Pop or exclusive that’s kind of the same and in a lot of cases the normal one is just as cool.

It’s the thrill of finding one that’s fun. It always reminds me of the first time I found a chase. My first time, I actually found 3 at once

Same here. I look whenever I'm somewhere that is carrying a pop that has a chase variant. Although I won't completely tear down a display to search (I always put the displays back, and don't really want to give myself the extra work. haha)

I used to love going to places to hunt for Chases in the wild, however my desire to continue stopped not because of the lack of details or differences, it was due to more of the fact that Employees of said local stores were hoarding them on release day. Knowing that fact killed my desire to hunt for them, so now I dont bother looking and have turned to Soda Chases as they are a bit harder for people to know which is which.
