It's definitely a double edged sword. On one hand I'm looking forward to the exclusivity of getting certain pops at events but I know it can be a pain just getting into these events sometimes

Especially since Funko is lottery. I struck out in the SDCC lottery last year and struck out at the Wondercon lottery this year, hoping third time the charm. [-o<

So true, so true. I shouldn't wine too much, at SDCC last year I was able to get PN access but they had sold out of things by time I made it through the line and at Wondercon a fellow funatic helped me out. $\:D/$

I dislike the lottery. I know a lot of people like it but I prefer when we had to go up to the sales pavilion to get a time. Then at least you had a few chances. I haven’t been lucky enough for Funko since the lottery started

So true, so true. I shouldn't wine too much, at SDCC last year I was able to get PN access but they had sold out of things by time I made it through the line and at Wondercon a fellow funatic helped me out. $\:D/$

Nice except for stuff being sold out. Funko has been so hit or miss even when you do get access recently.

Oh, no. Sails was always the worst for our group. Most of the time we would wait all night and then somehow miraculously we would end up 300 people deep or something even though we were at the front of the EE line and then the bands would somehow run out and we got nothing. That happened so many times I just gave up trying

It’s also the 25th anniversary of the arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution. A DDR arcade, like the Iron Throne, would be a hilarious piece to display a pop on.

Definitely agree with this. The struggle and the rarity of the pop are part of what makes it fun. Have to have a good balance.

I think I'm with you on the NFT blind pack for a guaranteed physical pop. They have done the NFT cards at events but never for physical pops. A blind pack that would guarantee you a physical pop but the rarity would depend on which pack you opened, would be very interesting. This would get plenty of purchases for essentially pre-orders and logistically it would be great for them.

So question I know everyone want to get into the booth first but is it better to try for like the second session on each day for better odds or just go for the gusto and put all the points into the first booth session each day? My first con so hoping to get into booth but won’t hold my breath.

My first SDCC was the last time they did sails (2017) and boy was it brutal. I remember barely getting any sleep on all the days there and only getting a ticket once and missing out on others. Somewhat prefer lottery but when I don't hit, I clamor for the time when they did sails so you can at least get a glimmer of a chance. It's a double edged sword really lol

Yeah, I never got a wristband/ticket from Sails and tried at least 3 or 4 times (I forget because the lack of sleep probably created memory loss. Ha!)
