Re: May be discontinued at Target
I hit up three Target locations between the weekend and yesterday, nothing new beyond Green Lantern, Spiderman, a lousy painted Robin, and Wolverine. This is in southern Cali. This news is bad, because there are very few comic books stores out this way. I've called one and visited another and they don't carry Pop!

Crazy, with Comic Con down south, I'd assume there were some sweet shops down there.

I'm jealous people are seeing Pop for half price at Target. I went last weekend to check it out and they had some Star Wars and Marvel/DC but they were all 9.99

Thanks for the info. The Target off of Arlington in Riverside was a waste of time. Any sightings at the Toys R Us off Tyler?

I was just in there at lunch. I went to Best Buy, TRU, and B&N. I found a Green Lantern Chase at B&N today.

Samesies! I have found 1 comic shop in town that carries some funko, but I dont think they get new shipments in. I said before, they just had the 3 ad icons and a Jason pop. Had some very random wobblers.

If you guys go to like Toy shows (SDCC, NYCC, etc etc), you can usually find pop vinyl figures for $10 bucks a pop and they have most characters... i usually just save my buys till then... you can see condition and you pay a flat $10...

Online they carry a few but its a good question.. Especially since they carry a lot of other speciality toys from smaller companies.

Re: May be discontinued at Target
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that TRU carries Mini Muggs & Mighty Muggs exclusively? Might be a stipulation of the deal w/ Hasbro ... just a guess.
My local Target also stopped carrying POP!

They do. They had a bunch of marvel and dc pops for awhile. They sold those out at all my local shops and carry star wars

That's sucks about Pop! I have seen the mini muggs at Walmart and I thought they looked pretty cool, but passed since I have them coming in Pop! form.

Re: May be discontinued at Target
I read this older post by Brian:
Brian@Funko » Tue Jun 20, 2006 12:20 pm
Funko during the Mike Becker era sold to Target, Walgreen's and other large retail stores.
We sell often to big distributors who once in a while will put an older product like Homer series #1, Stewie Series#1 etc. into a large store. These are currently in target now.
As a general rule it makes no sense to sell to a mass discounter with current products. I was also told by this distributor who placed our products in Target that the retail is $9.99.
Funko often releases a few products that make sense in more "mass" type stores. Simpsons, Family Guy and Peanuts are such licenses are such licenses. Other licenses like Mad Monster Party, Hanna Barbera, Count Chocula, Speed Racer etc. obviously do not translate well into "mass".
Funko will always strive to attain a balance of big licenses and small licenses such as Hawaiian Punch, Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy etc..
For FunKo to make it as a business, we must do a little of both..
How else could we make 12" El Kabong's!!!! And silly stuff like 7 foot Wally Gators..
Mike Becker did a wonderful job of striking this balance, I only hope to do the same...

The two Targets near me were selling their remaining Pop for $6.40 each. They both only had Spiderman, Superman, Captain America, and Green Lantern. I am hoping when the Avengers Pop comes out they will carry those.
