I think the same when I buy a pop because it looks good but have no interest in the franchise. There goes $40-$50 in pops for shows or movies I don’t even like.

I don’t think the addiction ever gets better lol. They announced the Batman Itty Bittys and the Joker 50th funko and I don’t think my set will ever be complete. :freddy4:

I usually buy based on the lines I am collecting ,but ended up adding and adding more lines to my collection list and it got a bit crazy. I've accepted some POPs are just going to be out of my range. Happy for those that got it in their collection.

With so many pops that come out each year, I have gotten more selective. My weakness is for the more unique pops.

The design on some pops is so awesome that you want them even though you have no interest in the franchise.

I remember when I first started collecting, I went crazy! I accumulated 1000 Pops within my first year! Then after 3 years I was a little over 2000. Finally I was able to get ahold of my habit and start focusing on downsizing and collecting stuff that had more of a purpose to me. Im now sitting on just over 500 Pops, most of which are not commons, unless they are just to complete a set.

I am sure you got an amazing deal. GoT used to be one of my higher valued sets lol hoping they raise in value again but don’t think it will ever get to the way it was. Still love them all though.

I used to collect one every so often, now I bring home 5-10 almost weekly. My desk belongs to the pops now...My dresser belongs to the pops, my house belongs to the pops

This is the reason why we had to let the SW line go. lol it’s just too many to keep up with, and completion with this line seems impossible, IMO… Seems like you guys are truly dedicated though..lol

I accumulated 300+ pieces (pops, minis, dorbz) in my first year. I downsized to around 80. Then I started getting back into it around 2019-2020 because some of my all-time wants (Avatar Last Airbender, Community, Fullmetal Alchemist) started coming out. I had recent loves like MHA and they started their pops. Then COVID came, my brother and a few friends started collecting, and then I was back in the swing of things.

Now I have around 200+ again and way out of room. I’m downsizing again, but it’s kind of taking much longer than my last time. I don’t think I’ll ever stop collecting, but I’m trying to be more conscious of what I buy. One of the bigger filters I’ve put in place is deciding if a pop is from an all-time love or from a recent/trendy love. There are a few properties without any pops that I might go crazy on, but we’ll have to see if they ever make them!

This is why my wife told me the SW collection was my responsibility, because she knows I hate things being unfinished lol. It's a lot, but as you said, I'm "dedicated."

They are not addicting at all. Just a fun way to show what we all love. 1, 2, 3 100, 1000 and now around 4,000. I stopped counting long ago and just enjoy these little guys.

It can be an addiction for sure. Back when I was more actively collecting, I used to buy the complete line of movie or tv show releases all at once right when they became available at retail. I mainly collected Star Wars Pops so I miss the fan fare collecting events like Force Fridays, where I would would walk out of stores with the complete movie line of Pops and action figures (or at least all the ones I could get my hands on lol).

:bounce: :freddy2: yea I find the key to collect is to never buy above your means which include size. I do also think with time my feelings for pops change which gives me an opportunity to downsize. The addiction is real but I think with great practice you become a Supreme collector. :bounce: :freddy2:
