Valiant Comic POPs

Postby Battastic » Thu Oct 13, 2016 6:46 am

OK, so I know these have been floating around the interwebs for a while now (pics and character list).
I could not find a thread on this but saw a quick mention of it in the NYCC thread. I have not seen anything official from Funko...but what is more official than seeing it for sale in a local comic shop.

I was never a huge follower of Valiant Comics but I did read a few books (Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Ninjak). Nice to see other comic companies getting the Funko treatment. Plus the new Valiant cinematic universe is trying to get underway and that Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe trailer looks promising

This is the only article I found
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/09/27/ ... -con-2016/

Are Valiant Comics popular in Asia??? Or is this situation where some Chinese company is paying to have the Valiant Comics movies made (Like World of Warcraft or Max Steel)? International members please chime in!

Also that numbering is driving me crazy the checklist is gonna look weird now

That was my next question as well. Not sure why they are listed for POP Asia but stranger things have happened.

I did see that the Faith was coming, but never noticed Pop Asia. I am kind of surprised, but still grateful to see the Independent Comics getting some love.

These look awesome! I hope we see these here at some point. I've never read anything from Valiant, but Faith has caught my eye at work before.

Those all look really good. Bummed to see they are pop asia though. A funatic helped me out with faith. I'm hoping that the rest won't be too bad to get a hold of.

Man, I used to love X-O Manowar and Harbinger when I was younger. Great to see these becoming available. Might have to pick up a couple.

That sounds like something that might be blocked by Mcfarlane toys. I assume he would want to keep a monopoly on Image collectibles.

McFarlane would be able to have the say in his own line, but Image Comics is an independent comic company that allows the creators of their own books to decide what they may produce. If Chew creators John Layman and Rob Guillory chose to allow Funko to create a line, they would have that choice to do so on their own. This is what I love about Image Comics.

Resurrecting this thread since i was at my parents house yesterday and came across my old X-O Manowar, Bloodshot and Rai books. I was an avid reader when Valiant first came around. Harbinger, Solar as well as the books i had just mentioned were great, great reads. I remember 2 years ago i ran into the new publications and picked up some graphic novels and they were great.

given the fact that a Bloodshot movie is in the works with Vin Diesel in the title roll, i'm hoping that we will not only get those but maybe a deal can be made to get the rest. Characters i'd love to see:

Solar
X-O Manowar
Rai
Turok
Ninjak
Eternal Warrior
• Funko Fiends PSW President •
• Pøps.Føød.Shœs.Rεpεατ •
• there's no way everybody was Kung-Fu fighting •
