How to clean flocked pops?

Postby Jla313 » Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:05 pm

A friend of mine received a flocked pop from Funko, with a smudge on it. Any suggestions on how to carefully clean it would be much appreciated. Not sure if matters, but the smudge is on a white flocked area of the pop. Thanks!

Definitely wait for other responses but I have used a magic eraser before and had good results.

Guess it depends on what the smudge is and if it's been absorbed. Damp cloth or sponge should get any superficial dirt/debris. Magic eraser in theory should work fine.

I use rubbing alcohol and a soft toothbrush and blow on it as a brush the area so the alcohol evaporated quicker

I never even thought about this, I’m betting it’s tough for open box collectors when it comes to flocked ones.

Never tried it on a pop, but putting baking soda on it for a few minutes might work. That’s usually how I get stains out from my carpet.

The white ones are the worst ones. I don’t bring flocked white ones out the box anymore ever since the hot sauce incident.

When I used to collect Dunny's, we would use scotch tape to take the dust off our Flocked Dunny's. I would roll it around my finger like a lint roller.

This is a really useful thread. I'll definitely look back on these, I have a couple of flocked ones that I need to clean as well.

lol it is tough enough to get the dust off of them normally if they aren't flocked (at least, it is when you have 400+)

Definitely a good thread to follow. We installed a HVAC Unit that has decreased our dust in the house. It was meant for my allergies, but it has helped tremendously with the dusting of my pops.

Hahaha I was eating a burrito and didn’t realize some hot sauce fell on my sleeve. I then decided a cool pick would be flocked wampa with my burrito so I go get him set him up grab my phone.i look up and blam all of sudden huge red dot on wampas head. Dabbed it out with a towel with warm water but it still has the smallest discoloration. No one notices it but me.
