Anime pops

I think the biggest issue is that it takes a long time for them to create the Pops. It stinks that they show up way after the season has already aired but not sure there is a whole lot they can do with that.

Sometimes I think it’s Funko trying to make sure their is enough interest and other times I think it may be the licensors being slow to release the license to make merchandise for certain movies, tv shows and films. I think a lot of the bigger animes have licensing deals in place to allow certain companies to have the first stab at releasing figures from the current seasons.

Yeah and some licenses seem really good about letting them get concepts early so that it comes out closer to release date, while others seem like the concept only develops after it airs. The whole thing is fascinating to me though. I would love to see the behind the scenes process to know why certain items drop when they do.

Yeah I thought when they did the making fun documentary they were going to go in depth as far as the licensing process but they didn’t really touch that aspect. Would be fascinating to be able to get that deep rooted perspective of how things work during the procurement phase for licenses

Yeah obviously for a number of reasons it would be hard for them to show. Not to mention it would greatly vary upon license, but I think from a consumer standpoint it would be fascinating!

I would like also to be behind the scenes, kind of my dream job is to work on one release project and see all the steps from the early idea to the final release of the product.

I absolutely get this, understand it, and supportive (I’m all over these threads constantly asking for more Sailor Moon pops — specifically a Freddy/Franny as Sailor Moon. Ranks pops would be amazing! Keep putting that into the universe — it could happen!
