I like how detailed the new molds are but I still love the classics.

Loving the classics are fine as long as the classics aren’t reproduced like they came out yesterday… if they are still reproduced; that doesn’t make them very “classic” lololol

You’re not wrong about that lol

We need some lower production numbers to get them to more collectible status!

Yeah lol it blows my mind that wave 1 isn’t vaulted for DBZ. Especially because at one point we were getting a dbz wave a quarter. Although they did recently vault Nappa, Raditz, Tien and Chaotzu. So we are making progress - I just think wave one of any line should vault by the time we get to wave 3 and 4.

It is legitimately mind boggling how many dbz pops are still actively in production and not vaulted considering the amount of characters that are reprints of the same character. Lol I kind of look at it like the jordan brand, they can always retro and come out with a different version of the same shoe and they do to reward the og collectors but still allow new ones to get their hands on it. I would love for them to discontinue everything after a year when wave one drops. Like to me it is mind blowing that wave 1 of MHA is still readily available lol the molds of the pops even look a tad retro.

all i know is pa vegeta will be in my :freddy2: collection one day

A lot of the oversized pops and deluxes should be more limited, IMO. I think they still really only appeal to a niche group of collectors, of which may not even have the space to commit to buying them.

This is no lie because 18 inch pops take up so much space they would almost have to be limited for me to join the party

I think most of us long time collectors have space issues at this point.

Space and protector issues both. Like any "odd-sized" ones are nearly impossible to find a decent protector for, so I'm always hesitant picking them up.

I think some of the really old pops that keeping getting reprints should get vaulted for good. Prefer they come out with new stuff rather than trying to make money off old stuff.

Same here and especially when your super into box condition - having something that’s oddly shaped ie the newest hot topic eren in Titan form (the crystal looking one) - it’s oddly shaped and I haven’t found a protector yet - then again, the weight alone obliterated the plastic inserts on each one I got smh

Especially on licenses where they have open reign to create whatever character whenever they want. I honestly don’t think two versions of the same character should be in production at once (but that’s just me being picky) - once upon a time there would be only one version of a character and then once that vaulted, you’d have to wait for the next version to come out in the next wave. Those days were fun. I still love funko tho regardless - I just wish they’d choose to make things a little more collectible from time to time

Some characters are really, really overproduced. Pikachu, Demogorgon and Vegeta are some just off the top of my head they need to stop making so many variants of. The overproduction is getting out of control with a lot of Pops but some have just way too many. When I saw that email that they were gonna start pulling from the vault I got a little annoyed. I agree with you

These were my favorite days of collecting funko. When you know you’re getting something rare, it made collecting more fun. They need to do small runs again imho. I love Funko so much but I miss these days as well.

It has to be a rule for that, but to be honest if the license is good and is still selling well they will produce it. For Example the original Luffy, even they produce others the original one is one of the best.
