Funko Funatic Pops

Postby brooklyn_geek » Fri Jan 03, 2020 7:06 pm

I saw a friend of mine get a custom pop of himself done a while back and I thought it came out great. I thought it'd be a crazy thing to see some Funatics with their own custom pops of themselves. It could be a thing for the HOF members at Fundays or imagine if we could take the digital selfie pops and send them somewhere to be made for a price higher than normal or something. What do you guys think?

It's a great idea, a custom pop of yourself that would be awesome that came from funko

Ya it's fun, you basically choose various, body shapes, parts and accessories to make a custom character. I made one at HQ, but haven't made one since, so I'm not sure how often they change customizable parts.

Definitely something that's in high demand from Funko. I the HOF members idea is genius! That's definitely something I could see them doing.

To make your own Funko avatar? I have! I wish they had more hair color options. Mine is too dark.

I thought for sure after being able to make our own avatar on Funko site that a Pop Yourself would be coming. Build your own at HQ is fun but it’s build a custom Freddy or Monster as the options. I totally would pay to get a Pop made of certain ppl. would be so cool.

Could be a cute gift idea, I have often thought about making customs of my collector friends. I am making one of my husband for sure now after this post inspired me :)

I've seen customs of pops at a friend's wedding and other events, so I think it's a cool concept! Don't think I'd make one of myself because I'm just too vanilla with nothing standing out lol

I made these this past weekend at Funko Hollywood.
I wish they had Freddy's crown available.

As far as making custom Pops of HOFers and whatnot, I think that would be kinda cool.
I was also hoping that the create your own avatar would eventually turn into a custom Pop...still waiting on that one.

Image

I also made a custom build-a-monster but didn't grab a picture of it as it was a gift for a friends bday...and I didn't want to spoil the surprise by posting it online anywhere.

I don't have a custom of myself but when my mother passed away years ago, my friends all chipped in and got a custom of my mom done. I cherish it. Not Dumbo of course :-p

Thank you! I've been a few times to Funko Hollywood already. The first time was during the grand opening and it didn't look like the build-a-freddy/monster area was open. That was where they were distributing the Hollywood store exclusives...the next time I went back it was super crowded and I was a little strapped for time so I figured I would make some on my 3rd trip, which is what I did!

Thanks! I definitely like all of the options they have although I wish there were more. While I was there creating mine, I saw a really cool rendition that someone else was making...it was part Freddy/part Monster. Super unique!

I feel like this was idea pitched for the HQ store a while back but now it's just the make your own freddies. It wouldn't be hard to add just normal pieces for you to fit together and make your own pop. Different shades of heads + arms, hairstyles, etc.

i think this would be a really fun idea if done right! i think a lot of people would like some resemblance of themselves immortalized in pop form, maybe one day they can stream line this process.
