Is HIKARIS a good investment?

Be they clear, glittery, metallic, distressed, or any other treatment they can come up with, here is your place to talk about Funko's latest hit product

Wow, interesting topic. Toys should never be an investment. I'm going to just chime in on how awesome Hikaris are. I'm a diehard wobbler collector, have never really enjoyed the pops other than a few characters that I would collect in any format (Hanna Barbera, Staypuft, ect.). I can't remember when I have been more excited about a new line from Funko than these Hikaris, they are beautiful. If you have ever collected any Super7 or Kauju type stuff these rock and way more affordable than those!!! Given that, I still will not buy everyone, only the ones I really enjoy (no transformers, no asia pop, etc).

Last year, I was digging in garbage cans for food. This year, I bought a Hikari and then sold it to a guy with an eye-patch. Now my kids have gold-plated contact lenses and can afford to use words like "chap" and "swimmingly." Thank you Funko Hikaris for making my dreams come true.

I think it's safe to say toys aren't investments...they're FUN!

My first pop (the blue and grey Batman pop) came in the clamshell and I hated it. Opened that sucker as quick as I could after SDCC. Looking back on it now that was probably a bad decision. ;)

I trade my stock account pretty much daily. And I love it. However I call that my toy fund :) My investments are my 401k and cash.

My Star Wars collection and other collecting (Sideshow, Gentle Giant, and FUNKO!) are for my spare cash and for me to look at be happy with it every day.

I've bought a few Hikari and LOVE them. They are pretty cool. But not going to go as crazy with them as other things (coughPOPcough). But honestly, very few toys, if any, made nowadays will be like the #1 Superman comic or old 50s toys in decades to come. Mass market and eBay have changed it. IMO.

So like everyone else here says - buy what you like and be happy with it!!

I agree old toys can be valuable now (wouldn't necessarily say they're investments - some are), but few were buying toys thinking they were going to be investments back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. The speculation market of the 90s changed everything and the internet more so.

Yep, if it's not a limited edition or a truest special short print, it's inly going to be worth what it means to you as a collector

I think you owe me a new laptop. Whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea, I came upon your post. I laughed so hard I spit chamomile all over the keyboard.

Go online, use an online promo code for $45 off $90. They'll ship to a local hot topic store for free. You have a couple hours left on that deal...until they do it again in April:)
