Toy Fair... no Hikari?

Postby mohawkjones » Thu Feb 23, 2017 4:47 pm

Haven't seen a PDF of the catalog yet but from all of the booth pictures I've seen there was no Hikari to be found.

Sticking to Hikari Friday stealth announcements?

I dont remember there being any Hikari last year either, they haven't really said much about them other than really slowing down on production for events. (only 1 or 2 at the last few cons, and at eccc this year)

Assumed as much, thanks all. Brian mentioned more coming in the 12 Days of Christmas plus there being more Mini Hikari this year, so I guess Hikari Friday announcements are the way to go...

I will be the barer of bad news....

There was NO hikari on displayed at Funko or Toy Tokyo it's really sad :( also there is only 1 page dedicated to hikari in the entire catalog, Pop Home got more pages...
Image

It says "Figures shown are not available for purchase at this time"

But there is one bit of news that will have some excited! I'll post pics in a bit.

Huckleberry Hound, Frakenberry and more coming 2017! Cant' wait for the hikari haters to come out of the woodworks to either praise and buy those hikari or complain that they are ugly and too expensive....

OK, that's good and bad news. This reconfirms what Brain said during the 12 days of Xmas with with new HIkari coming this year and those are 2 new sculpts we did not know about, so that's cool.

I have a love/hate relationship with Hikari Fridays. I love having new mystery drops every Friday, it reminds me of the good old days before the internet when we would walk into a toy aisle as a kid and see new figures that we had no idea was coming out. Sometimes hate not knowing what is coming, from a budget/display space perspective it makes it tough sometimes to decide which color ways to order or to skip.

I'm not a huge Hikari fan myself, but some of them are really incredible! For me it's mostly the price point compared to other lines I prefer more. That having been said, I LOVE the Vader mini hikaris and am looking forward to seeing more of them!

I think it was reported here that there are more minis that will be shown off at Star Wars Celebration. Fett and/or Greedo, I'm guessing.

I'm excited for Frankenberry, thanks for that, eastWOLF!

Brian himself confirmed that his favorite bounty hunter will be a Mini HIkari exclusive at Celebration. No word yet on who his favorite is...
