Captain America Mega Dorbz XL

Who has info on this guy? We know that they were sold at SDCC this summer and 75 weren't sold. And we know that they were sent to many different artists to decorate for Operation ReDorbz (which was super awesome). But the question is....will these be sold elsewhere :-k

If I had to guess (and that's pretty much all I can do at this point) I would say that the majority of the Captain Mega Dorbz did not meet the quality control standards of Funko (much like many of the other Mega Dorbz from Fundays). Until Funko receives a new batch of Mega Dorbz that aren't paint smudged, scratched, etc. we will have to wait in the dark.

I do know one thing, that there was only about 20-ish of these sold during SDCC. I do not know as to if they are going to sell/release these elsewhere. As far as I know, it was supposed to be an SDCC exclusive type thing.

I've heard rumors they will see a wider release later this year, but who knows. Strange are the ways of Funko :-)

I managed to get classic Batman and blue Deadpool, would love to add Cappy to the set.

From what I remember of the SDCC offsite that sold these, they either did not send enough or their was a problem with the rest that led to them not being put up for sale. I think it was the latter. The one day I got in line they weren't putting them out for sale at all.

I walked by at 10am on Friday, just to gauge how it was going to go/how it went and they said then that all Caps were gone, gone, gone. It was the only one I really, really wanted, so here's to hoping that they make a Funko-shop appearance :freddy2:

Definitely curious to see if this crops up again. I remember originally it had no edition #, then it was LE 250, then ultimately there only seemed to be a few dozen that actually got released at the pop up shop. Did anyone here actually get ahold of one? I don't recall ever seeing a single picture after SDCC!

There was a flyer or something that said they were going to release some of these for online sale after SDCC for $85, but it has since disappeared. I'm wondering what the Cap Mega Dorbz story is, too. I haven't seen photos of anyone with one. If I had one I would have taken so many photos and they would be all over social media.

Cap was soldout on the first day of SDCC and only about 20 pieces were sold to the public. I remember seeing the list they handed out and it was LE52 but was erased out with a sharpie. They couldn't sell the rest because the majority had issues with quality

The ReDorbz are made of heavier vinyl compared to the light plastic Captain America Mega Dorbz, so they wouldn't be considered a part of these.

I wonder if Funko will continue the Mega Dorbz line after the quality issue that they experienced. I hope that they do because I would love to have one, but it might require a redesign to correct the quality issues first.

I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to get one of the ones with quality issues. Just owning one would make me happy... doesn't need to be perfect, and I can glue a head back on.

I was first in line on friday. I got in line at 12pm because I wanted first dibs on the dorbz. Around 1pm they shut down, and they posted a board that had the captain America sold out sign. I still stayed because I wanted Big Boy and a few shirts

I would love for them to continue this line, I camped out from early Wednesday until they opened on Thursday morning to be able to get my Cap, he's amazing! I would love to see different characters!

I saw an early version of the flyer Preview Night and it said limited to 52 and by that time, the camp out was way too long. Then I saw a revised version of the flyer that said limited to 100. So it appeared they were doing 25 a day. Then come Friday I camped out and he was gone. I spoke to staff on site and said there were imperfections with the remaining stock and they weren't allowed to sell. Also heard a mention of an online release, but we all know how that went (nothing since July 2016).

I have a few copies of flyers at home and will post pix later. But there were at least 3 different flyers and all mentions to Cap were edited somehow.

And during SDCC I only saw 2 for sale (non-artist custom) on ebay and it was bidding at $350 and one on San Diego Craigslist for $500 and I said no thanks to both.

I would like one. He was what I really wanted from the mega dorbz that came out.
Hopefully he comes out secretly, because if it get spoiled the day before i'll most likely miss out

This is my thought as well. A toy that large is too niche and too much of a space hog to really see store shelves.

the redorbz had a very nice weight and solid feel. the megadorbz batmans from fundays was a very thin feel and weight.

I too would love to see this re released. I was in line for just this and the t-shirts on Thursday morning. my number was lower than 100 (I forgot exact number) and they sold out of both before me! I had to "settle" for just a big boy....
