Nope. The smile gives the Dorbz their charm. A smirk wouldn't be as good because it wouldn't compliment as many characters as the smile does.

Couldn't have said it better. The Dorbz like Bizarro and Sadness especially are made even better by the fact that all of the others have smiles on their faces.

I don’t think they necessarily all need to have a smile but yes I get your point. It’s the whole point of the line so those that aren’t smiling feel off.

Yeah, I still collect them but I feel Funko painted themselves into a corner. I’m sure they did it to establish a particular design aesthetic, like the large black eyes on Pops. But the smiley face design largely prevents them from giving Dorbz more personality by varying facial expressions. Pretty much all Dorbz (with only a handful of exceptions) are... well, “happy”. When you look at other figures like Cosbabies, the range of looks is much more varied and interesting because they don’t limit themselves to certain eye and expression detailing.

ANY smiles on ANY toys are creepy! They can't make it realistic enough and they look like they're about to eat your soul. That's what I like about pops... no mouths (typically... with a few exceptions). They still look AMAZING but don't have the mouths... they're just a little weird.

I personally like the Dorbz aesthetic with his with their smiles, but appreciate when they take the character's personality into consideration. Just got Levi from Attack on Titan the other day and the frown fits his character perfectly. Or Spock with his indifferent look is funny and appropriate.

Heisenberg looks awesome without the mouth in your signature. I think some would look silly without a mouth (TMNT for example), but I definitely get what you are saying with the classic look.
