Dorbz Ridez- taking a nap or gone for good?
I think most of you know how much I love my Dorbz Ridez I've ravenously stayed complete on the series, and have anxiously waited for news of new ones to come out and kept the checklist thread up to date. November of last year Panthro went up on the Funko Shop, and since then.... nothing. No new releases, no news of future releases, no leaks, nothing. I figured it was just a pause, but then when the Toy Fair announcements came out I thought for sure we'd see something, but we didn't. I'm thinking we will -at least- see some future Star Wars Ridez (which being Disney exclusives would not have been part of the Toy Fair announcements) but not sure what to think beyond that. They did announce the small diecast Super Racers at Toy Fair, maybe they're going to focus on those and Pop Rides and steer away from Ridez?
Anyway I'm curious if anyone has heard any news one way or the other, and what your thoughts are on if Ridez really do go away. I for one would greatly miss them!

I would be sad.
Seems like they've just strolled away from Dorbz in general (see Toy Fair announcements for reference).
They should at least do Inspector Gadget before throwing the towel in.

This long pause has me considering buying those ridez I don't even like just to add something new. I'm looking at you Aladdin and Moana.

I've been wondering the same thing! I don't have many because I solely collect the ones that appeal to the inner child in me. Regardless, I would still love to see a few more ridez tied to older properties.

I'd hope not. It seems like there were more than a few rides they wouldn't or couldn't do as pops but made in Dorbz form. I'd hate to see that stop and just have no version of some really cool ones. (Take the Milano, for example) Dorbz was my only feasible hope at a Thanos-Copter.

Just because you didn't see stuff in the Toy Fair catalog (even though there was reference to Wreck it Ralph Dorbz Ridez - see below) doesn't mean they are dead. Most of them are probably going to be Funko Shop items or Con exclusives or subscription box items so they obviously wouldn't be in the catalog. Take a deep breath everything will be okay

We should be seeing some later this year thanks to the info in the Funko 2018 catalog. I prefer the dorbz ridez over the pop ridez so I hope they're here to stay.

Love Dorbz Ridez, so I certainly hope we get more. Definitely need a Doom Buggy from Haunted Mansion and bobsled from the Matterhorn.

I hope not. I need to complete the set so at least it's giving my wallet a break from the new ones. I doubt they will go away though. I thought Dorbz was Brian's thing from what I heard from like an old Funkast. So as long as Dorbz are around still, there is still a good possibility the ridez will still show up. It's just a waiting game for now, I think, cuz Funko has so many other lines that they are focusing on.

Re: Dorbz Ridez- taking a nap or gone for good?
I can't see them going, they just don't have very frequent releases. I expect they'd try and be a bit more selective though as a fair few of them end up heavily discounted, particularly the sub box ones. The Wacky Racers ones are so good though, so hopefully they keep those up!

I wouldn't worry about it. The first couple months of the year always seem kind of slow when it comes to Funko, if you ask me. I'm sure we'll get at least one by the time Summer rolls around.

I'd be sad if the Ridez were discontinued, but I feel like there's still some good ones on the horizon. Plus as mentioned, I need the rest of the Wacky Races set

Quite right. The point though was that there has been no news/ announcements/ leaks in 3 months. Since Ridez first came out there's never been a "pause" like this before, in fact there's never been a time that there wasn't one or more that were announced but pending release. The sudden silence seems really odd. But that is good news on the Wreck it Ralph one!
wolvie wrote:@Brian just has to at least finish the Wacky Races.
I am super pleased they made as many as they have, but yes it would be amazing to see the rest made!
smitre wrote:The Star Wars Bantha and Luke Speeders don't count?
Absolutely, but those are old news, they were revealed at Fundays in July of last year. Panthro was way after that.
Buffalow32 wrote:We should be seeing some later this year thanks to the info in the Funko 2018 catalog. I prefer the dorbz ridez over the pop ridez so I hope they're here to stay.
Are you talking about Wreck it Ralph or was something else mentioned? And I agree with you, I have all the Pop Rides and Dorbz Ridez and like the Ridez better! They are smaller, cuter and better detailed. Still a big fan of Rides too, but I give Ridez the edge.
groundhog7s wrote:Hopesdenial wrote:Hoping to see more. I have hope since we sorta recently got the Stranger Things and Grinch ridez

But all of those were WAAAAAAY before Panthro. Wonder Woman was August 2017. The Stranger Things Ridez were shown at Fundays July 2017. The Grinch was revealed in early September and leaked before that. I'm not trying to split hairs, but my point is just that there has been no news/leaks since November of last year (Panthro) and it seems like y'all think there have been, but all the examples mentioned predate Panthro.

There are many more Disney Ridez that I would like to see. All of the ones I own have been exclusives. I would like to see more regular release ones.

Re: Dorbz Ridez- taking a nap or gone for good?
Definitely need Dorbz Ridez to continue. I'm almost Dorbz Ridez complete, with the exception of the 4 Banana Splits. I'm really hoping these continue, as we know Dorbz aren't going away any time soon. I like that Dorbz Ridez give Funko another means to create a Dorbz figure that's exclusive to the Ride itself.
Also - they absolutely CANNOT finish the Dorbz Ridez until they complete all of the Wacky Racers!
