Mystery Mini Boxes - Worth Saving?

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Mystery Mini Boxes - Worth Saving?

Postby Squird » Wed Oct 08, 2014 7:31 pm

I pick up missing pieces on Ebay from time to time and sometimes they're shipped in their boxes, sometimes not.

Since you have to open the box to see what you got anyway, box or no box doesn't bother me much. I try to keep the boxes for the next owner because I have the space to do that, but I'm pretty sure there are no box collecting Mini Fans out there and that I'm wasting the space.

Anyone else go to the trouble of keeping them?

I keep the back panel of one box per line I collect to mark off what I have but otherwise no.

I do that as well to help keep track.

I actually do. Though I'm thinking of throwing them out since they take up too much space.

I keep mine Stephe, but I only have Walking Dead, Horror, DC, and SciFi, so not many boxes.
I only keep one from each series though, not from each Mini I purchase.

Kidrobot and stuff like that yes. But Funko no. And it is a pain to find space for all those empties too.

Chuck 'em as soon as the minis are on my shelf. If I need to look up the box for the ratios I just go online.

I'm an OG Kiidrobot collector so it's a habit to keep the boxes it's just so frustrating that I can't open them without destroying the tops :(

I take one box, pull it apart, and trim it down to just the artwork panels and ratio panel...and then I put those in a binder.

I'm curious why you would differentiate between the KR and Funko ones. Is there a reason why you save KR and not Funko?

Some KR are worth money, Funko not so much.

Pretty much what PK said. Also, you can open a KR box without mostly destroying it.

I don't cause I see no purpose to keeping them. Plus to open them you almost have to rip the top off.

If you keep the boxes, open them from the bottom. Then the top will still be untouched. I keep one box from each series I buy. The rest I recycle.

I save one box from each line, and use it as a checklist. I open it very carefully and then glue it closed again so it looks new, and I display it with the figures. I also save the box of any figure I plan to trade/sell, because I will include it in the shipment.
