PLZ HELP: Is this a fake funko pop?
Hello, I ordered a funko pop (see link below) of the 2017 ECCC Captain America from WWII off of eBay. This pop was listed for $24.99 and I applied a $10 coupon eBay gave me totaling a $40 pop to be $14.99 with free shipping. This should’ve been a red flag for me with it being for so cheap but I thought that it would be reasonable for someone to sell it for $15 under the PPG value. I am aware about buying things overseas and would never do that if I was expecting an authentic item. The item said it shipped from California and it was from a very normal sounding user, with very good reviews. Plus, 30 people had bought the same item, so I decided to give it a go. However, after buying I got a PayPal receipt saying I sent the money to San Shun Tong limited, which is obviously a very sketchy name. I attached the link below and I wondered if any of you can tell for sure whether I am getting a fake or not (luckily the seller accepts returns so I can do that if needed).
-Thanks

EDIT: Thanks to many of you, I am almost 100% sure this is fake. Is there a way that I can get my money back now without having to go through the return process? It’s a shame 31 other people also fell for this scam really recently.

Re: PLZ HELP: Is this a fake funko pop?
My guess is that it might be fake, but can't guarantee until you get it. The red flags for me are:
1) No actual pictures, they appear to all be stock images.
2) The "7-14 business days" shipping to US, which means it's coming from overseas.
3) Look at their negative feedback. There are some that say that it's fake (I'm assuming "Es falso" means "it's fake"?) for the same item.

the seller possibly gotten it from popchultcha, but to have so many of one pop has me wonder. just keep an eye on the tracking number when you get. if the pop doesn't come by the delivery date, contact the seller. if there is any issues contact paypal and ebay. I'm hoping it's all good for you and you get your pop

I just researched it for you and in my opinion.. FAKE FAKE FAKE! If you look at the 'item specifics' it states 'Unbranded.' I went through the user's feedback as well and found a few different reports from other Funko buyers. Not to mention, on the auction it says 'California' but if you open the user's profile, it says 'Hong Kong.'

Yes while I thought having many people order it was a positive, after ordering I realized that it would be very unreasonable to have one seller have so many of one exclusive pop available to order. But yes, I will definitely be tracking and contacting the seller if needed.

Looks fake to me. The glam doesn’t even look real. Report to eBay and get your money back.

Thanks, I knew the stock images were pretty sketchy

Yes thank you for researching, I will most definitely return it and research more about the location of the seller next time instead of just going off the shipping location.

If I report to eBay now, can I get my money back and cancel the order without even having to go through the return process?

I would imagine so. Just get a hold of eBay customer service and explain what’s going on. They should help you out.

I agree, Funko is never mentioned in the product page and the pictures look super sketchy. You should be able to report it and get a refund immediately.

It's a pretty smooth process. Once you get the ball rolling, ebay will refund you. This case is pretty cut and dry.

Unfortunately it does appear to be fake. I try to buy from US sellers with good feedback and using real pics.

I wouldn't buy from stock photos shops, not that it will be fake, but because I'm an inboxed collector and I like seeing real photos of what I will be buying. Good luck to you! contact ebay/paypal if anything is wrong.

Definitely looks fake to me, description labels it as action figure, unbranded, etc. Would definitely look into canceling

This is one of those “too good to be true” things.
The good new is that eBay should have you covered, as well as paypal.
Worst case, you’re out about $15 (which does suck, but could be a lot worse)

You may have some issues getting a refund. The description says that a refund will he issued if a replacement is not available and you’d have to pay return shipping. You may have a case if they instruct you to return it to an overseas address. Otherwise, if you get what’s in the picture then the seller has technically fulfilled their obligation. If it is a fake then you could also argue that it is not really an ECCC exclusive and the description was false and that should probably get you a refund. Caveat emptor.

This is what I was going to say, if you do end up out at least it was an inexpensive learning lesson. Maybe use it to make a funky custom, worst case scenario?

If the seller violated the shipping terms, by shipping from overseas instead of the States as listed, and/or if the item did not arrive in the time frame promised, it wouldn't be a standard return. It'd be a refund, with the seller having to pay return shipping.

Re: PLZ HELP: Is this a fake funko pop?
I went through this myself, ordered a Pop and it came from China and was a fake. You can contact the seller and ask for a refund, which is what I did. But if they refuse (which is what happened to me), then you have to return the item and file a dispute with either eBay or Paypal and provide them with the tracking info. In my case the cost of shipping it to China was more than I paid for the stupid thing to begin with! So I just left negative FB and chalked it up as a lesson learned. I've since been told that in a dispute the seller has to pay the return shipping, had I known that I would have went ahead and returned it.

Luckily the seller cancelled my order a few hours after I requested it. Funny thing was that I basically only paid $15 with a coupon and they refunded me $25 so hey, Ill take that

Re: PLZ HELP: Is this a fake funko pop?
Glad to hear you got a refund. Some ebay sellers are just forthcoming enough to know that if their fakes are disputed, it'll get escalated anyways so better to just cancel the purchase from their end.
While I personally don't think the name on the paypal receipt is sketchy, I definitely wouldn't buy anything from third parties in China and generally don't buy from out of US unless it's Popcultcha. The one exception was a metallic ghostrider from a dude in Thailand (and that didn't turn out so well).

I actually have the WWII Capt America Funko pop and this seems a bit off tbh. I also don't trust the wording on the website. Always trust your instincts...
