My buddy does figures with a cigar only for his dad and one line I try to do is any with pets. I still collect other lines but wanted to give myself just another way to collect more outside my normal wants .

I like the villains too. Theses weren’t store exclusives right?
They are not. I have seen them at both FYE and GameStop.
Dang we don’t even have FYE close anymore but I should check game stop.

They are the PX exclusive line, so those show up at comic shops and I've even seen them at HT and Walmart at times. They tend to get around.

I wish I would have used some specific criteria when i started collecting, maybe I would have more space now, but its too late, my pops are like family, can't get rid of them.

Re: Extremely Specific Pop Collecting
I don't really have any that specific but I really like this concept! I feel like I now have a whole new way to collect Pops!! Maybe just Pop's holding smaller items but non weapons. I do have the Indiana Jones holing the idol so maybe I already have a start!

I think I’m about to do this as well. I have a huge collection 1000+ and it’s just too many at this point. It’s hard to decide what to keep. I just don’t know how to start doing this.
If thinking of doing it just start separating and if you have any attachment don't sell it. Before you know it you will be done.
That’s good advice and probably what I’m gonna do. It’s so overwhelming going through everything too, ugh

Same here. When I first started collecting it was everything I love and loved as a kid. I have been toning it down the past couple of years to more specific lines

As much as I'd love that, it's hard for us East Coasters and the Con Exclusive stickers. Really cool idea though.

Does anyone besides me collect some Pops using extremely specific criteria? I collect a lot of different Pops for a lot of different reasons, but one thing I collect, no matter the line are Pops holding cats. The cat can't be included with the Pop or be just a cat, but an actual Pop holding a cat. And it needs to be a cat...Simba is a lion...he doesn't count. It's totally an arbitrary set of criteria, but I love it and I have so many people who have pointed out the new Godfather and Lightyear Pops coming that fit the bill. I think I have them all (except that darn Analyst from the Matrix that I can't seem to find), but it is fun to hunt them down (and why there is no Sally from NBC holding a cat, I have no clue).
So...anyone else have a very niche and highly arbitrary collection?
My wife collects purple pops. The character’s skin or clothing has to be fully purple.
That's cool! I have no clue, but are there a lot like that? I would think she has a lot of Thanos.
There are a TON of purple ones. And, yes, she has an army of Thanos pops

Re: Extremely Specific Pop Collecting
When I first began collecting, I wanted to get all Joker, Harley Quinn, and Wolverine variants. It was going pretty well until Funko began to make so many different lines and it was hard to keep up. Also, some of the variants were not to my liking. i wanted to cut down significantly so I just decided to collect what I like.

Now there is a different idea, collect by color. It could make for an interesting and varied collection.

Does the Pop! have to come with a physical cat or is a character wearing a t-shirt with a cat on the shirt something you collect as well? I was thinking about Tony Stark Pop! with a cat on his shirt.
1st pop Marvel Thor bobble head and Captain America (2011) Walked into booth at SDCC and purchased in less than 5 minutes.

Thank you! I agree. I've seen some collectors organize shelves by colors and they're always pleasing to the eye. (Especially the yellow shelf )

Wow, this thread is very very specific. Really cool collection ideas. I'm not too specific but I collect anything with a Batman Symbol.
