oh man, i didnt even think of it that way. animation would be awesome. they could do so much with animation. hopefully they hire the BTAS writers. but then again. x-men already have so many great story lines and cross overs.

i have no faith in Disney to not ruin the cartoon. BUT if it leads to more pops in that style, it won't be a complete disaster.

We've seen an uptick it seems with X-Men Pops (though most have been store exclusives). I really hope we get new stuff soon.

Well nostalgia aside... the cartoon wasn't perfect to begin with.
Ducktales remake was pretty good.

I think Disney could do a good job, I think content across all the streaming platforms is pretty hit or miss tbh. I cant think of a recent cartoon on any platform thats been a personal hit for me.

My friend has a podcast recapping each episode of the X-Men animated series and he has had past artists and voice actors on the pod. Generally the people who previously worked on the series are really excited about the '97. That at least gives me hope.

I am not going to lie Ive always really liked X-men but I am sorely lacking in what I have read. Ive seen the L/A Xmen movies obviously but its on my list of comic series to try and do a highlight tour of.

There are a lot of eras to choose but you can do no wrong by reading the original Claremont run and the Whedon (I know) runs.
The animated series takes a lot of elements from the Claremont/Jim Lee run in the 92 which stylistically is iconic.

If I'm not mistaken the superhero Island at Universal Studios is the 92 style, and I absolutely love it!!! Definitely adding it to my to be read list.

I haven't completed the first season but everything I have seen so far has been pretty good, with the slight downgrade in the theme song. Webby having agency isn't a problem IMO.
Now Disney+'s Chip N Dale - is a excellent example of Disney+ failing and failing super hard.

I think we'll definitely see new (old style) pops when the new series comes out. They said it picks up immediately after the last series so I'm super interested in what they are gonna do.

More 90’s X-men pops. They’ve released many I’ve asked for since last time I posted, Like Rogue and Gambit, But now I need some X-force, X-factor, and Excalibur Pops. Like Havoc, multiple man, Polaris, Captain Britain, Shadowcat, Phoenix, etc.

Spartacus wrote:Here comes yet another Thor Pop and we still haven't seen a Gambit or Rogue or Jubilee and the list goes on and on. And we've seen this time and time again with countless other Marvel characters. Thor has over 10 versions. I'm happy for his fans but what about the rest of us? DC fans get new Pop!s every month it seems!
Why haven't we seen for example an updated white costume Storm or a classic black costume Storm? Mr. Sinister, Omega Red, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Mystique, updated Wolverine, Polaris... I could go on and on.
Does it come down to licensing? Why (for example) would it be a struggle to get license to do another version of Archangel when they've already had permission to create him? Why would Marvel say yes to a Storm, Psylocke and Phoenix Pop, yet say no to Gambit or Omega Red?
I need these in my life!
I'm new to the Funko world so please forgive my ignorance.

I’ve wanted this for years. Sadly I’ve always been told it wouldn’t happen due to licensing. Maybe now that things are returning to Disney it can finally happen?
