The Golden Coin!?!?!?
Hi everyone!
I was super fortunate to get an awesome haul which included the Golden Underpants Billy but also... the gold coin that came with it
I had always been super intrigued by the gold coin ever since I saw a random mention of it on here a few years ago!
So here is what I know:
Mike Becker threw these in last minute during SDCC 2004 (the supermarket SDCC) and the first few that sold did not include them. They seem to be a last minute addition and did not lead to any prizes from what I was able to see looking back at old threads on here!
It was originally used as a prize to win a 1/40 Glow Casper wobbler at Funko Fundays 2 in Vegas!
I just wanted to highlight this random piece of Funko history! It's just a small cheap little coin but it's so weird and cool!
Any old-school funatics who have more info or stories, I'd love to read!

That is super cool, congrats! I love reading about the wilderness years of Funko and all the cool stuff Becker and team used to do.

That's actually insanely fun and cool. I never knew these existed and I consider myself a pretty knowledgable Funko fan. I love when companies (and Funko) do things like this. It just brings an air of uniqueness and engagement in both the product, and the brand.

That golden coin came in the tube with Billy in his golden undies. Just another corky thing Becker likes to do as he still does till this day.

This is way before my Funko collecting days, but I knew you would know a thing or two about it.

Wow. What an incredible, delightful bonus to your purchase. I had never heard of this or seen old mentions of it. Thank you for sharing.
This is why I hoard weird little stuff from Funko events... unfortunately I always seem to forget the details of how I got some of them I'm sure Mike would be tickled to see one of these.
