Ha, that was right around the time I started collecting Pops and you couldn’t really find them a lot of places (Walmart still had them by the trading cards) but every Walgreens had at least six of Olaf.
Please Funko make Taylor Swift Pops!

Hmmm.... maybe that wanted some of that Shopkins or Yummy World-type action. I have to admit I have purchased plush food
I get the appeal to some extent but as many different things people ask for who asked for the White Castles box Pop? Personally I could use an Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Pop to sit in my fridge and plush food is cooler
I have to admit that the only foodie pop I had to have was the white castle pop.

Yeah, I don't quite get the appeal here either. Maybe chrome Stormtroopers, but that's about it.

Some of them makes sense but most don’t. Destro from G.I. Joe makes all the sense.

I kinda want to say the art series pops. Mainly because I haven't seen someone buy an art series pop for the pop itself. I've usually only seen someone buy them on sale for the hard stack it comes with.

This feels like a very subjective question. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Better question might be which Pops were overproduced? (Probably a better indicator of stuff still being on shelves)

I think it did just ok. I think the main issues with VYNL were that they were two figures and therefore were more expensive than a pop as well as the retail support just wasn’t there. I think only Target carried the line. It was a shame because I really liked VYNL a lot.
Some of the designs were really neat. Maybe you're right and the retail just wasn't supportive, because I can't see how VYNL fails where Soda Pop succeeds...
I think a huge part of the success for the Soda line (aside from the cool metal can packaging) is the chance of a chase in just about all of them.

That's a good point. I don't really collect Soda but even I was tempted this past weekend at WonderCon just to see if I could score the chase.

I'd say it would be the "artist" series pops. I get why it was a "thing" because it was a nod to the hydro dripping technique. It's very unique, but to hydro-dip figures loses the character's details and that signature "POP!" look.
I also think if the "artist" series were uniquely designed based on local artists or trendy artists, I would totally support and buy. It would be an awesome opportunity to create a design for a figure and maybe get the artist's signature at cons or meetups

Darrell From Bright I think that’s his name been so long. Well it’s Will Smith character. The chase version. I just happen to be at the right place at the right time when I got it. Well I held on to it for a while then decided I didn’t want it so I tried to sell it but no one wanted it even at it being under the price from what I bought it. I just ended giving it away. Worst pop ever.

Yeah that was the only one I got from that set. I just happened to be there when they opened the box. The movie was ok. I did think it was cool how they made the mythical type races live in current times. I know they were supposed to make a part 2 but that got scraped.

Sad part was I collected the Valerian set . Easiest chases ever to find. I do like the set and the movie was decent enough. I personally think the frozen set is the worst . Poor Olaf so many variations.

Wasn't there like 2 different chases for that one Valerian character?

I recall their being 2 as well because of that hand bag. But most releases can hurt merchandise products if the movie or tv show tanks and has no fan interest.
