What is Mondo?
Weird question but what does Mondo typically sell? The name sounds cool and reminds me of the Good Burger movie but I know nothing of this company.

Check out their website https://mondoshop.com/. They sell limited editions of albums, posters, and other collectibles (tikis, etc.).

Re: What is Mondo?
It's pretty popular with posters. I know at SDCC the posters and albums were going very quickly. I like what I see just have pulled that trigger to get them.

Re: What is Mondo?
They have historically been known for movie posters and vinyls of movie soundtracks done by really talented artists. They used to be owned by Alamo Drafthouse, a chain of small theaters that I am a huge fan of. Some of my favorite artist prints have been released by Mondo.

Mondo is known for selling really nice posters, albums and various collectibles. Their booth at SDCC was amazing compared to previous years due to the new Funko relationship. I expect good things going forward.

I was at first skeptical but then I look at LoungeFly, and they seem to be moving in the right direction, so fingers crossed!

They sell amazing posters. They work with great artists that come up with unique and stunning designs. Mondo has a history with pop culture pieces so they should fit right in!

Definitely known for their posters, though definitely worried with the recent layoffs.

Re: What is Mondo?
I remember seeing their booth at SDCC last year. It would be interesting to see if they are there this year and what exclusives they are running. I bet with the company downsizing, they will probably just sell their exclusives, if they have any, directly at the Funko booth.

I hope Mondo has its own presence at SDCC. I think that will be pivotal to its survival. We need to see a strong creative showing.

If they do I would expect it to be mostly vinyl records.

I'm guessing Mondo feels almost the same as it did last year in regards to records and figures. The big mystery is all around posters since they had all the announcement stuff a few months back. They just had the Marvel Fanfare and Hawkeye drops last week. So I expect they will have something this year. Just maybe not in the same way they always have..

Mondo started as an offshoot of the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain in Texas. They started by making posters and shirts to sell at events, but eventually started selling on their website as well. After a few years, they also branched out to vinyl figures, records, and tiki mugs. They really helped to expose people to some of the most popular artists who do screenprints, like Tyler Stout and Olly Moss. I don't remember what the first print was that I bought from them, but I remember the first one I tried to buy was Django Unchained by Tyler Stout when they did a bunch of drops during the Oscars one year (and I did not get it in time and still don't have it).
Pure guesswork on my part but I think that the pandemic really affected Alamo Drafthouse. They ended up selling Mondo to our beloved Funko. At this point, they don't really do screenprints as often and focus more on records and figures.
And I am still really shocked that we never got a Freddy Funko print from Mondo. It would have been a great SDCC release.
Please Funko make Taylor Swift Pops!

Maybe, if Funko hadn't laid everyone off....
That being said, they are coming back with some amazing figures. Hernandez Godzilla is a personal favorite.

They're looking to sell Alamo Drafthouse now as well
