What I do appreciate is funko making an effort to try new things in the effort of fairness. When I first heard/saw eql I thought it was weird. But the more I’m learning I do think this would be great way to enter for funday tickets and I hope they implement that next year. I think the reason they’re doing this online box on eql (along with the other project Fred drops) is to test out the scalability, vulnerabilities, and fairness of the tool before implementing to something like funday tickets. Of course this is all just my perspective but I’m starting to like eql.
I wouldn't mind them using EQL for fundays, makes the stress of hoping to get a low number in the queue or being fast go away. They could do what sdcc parking lottery does and only allow 2 entries for credit card but then people might just buy prepaid and load up enough for tickets. If that doesnt work the main issue is people entering multiple times using multiple emails. Saw this convo a while back and someone suggested what if funko was able to connect the entries with a funko fan rewards account that has at least 5 purchases or something to somewhat help prevent a person from winning multiple times.
Because the best way to prevent reselling tickets is to check IDs on everybody but they don't have the time to do all that unless they get a dozen or more employees to work on it
