Especially since 2023 was the huge debut at SDCC and at Fundays, and there hasn't been any mention since..

I for one have the Wizard of Oz Dorothy rewinds, both the chase and the common, but I need to keep that collection 100% complete :roflmao:

Same here! I honestly thought they were just going to quietly stop that line, but I guess not.

I was thinking the same way. Some cool new pieces coming soon, but they're sure doing it with as little fanfare as possible. It's not even advertised on their homepage at funko.com. Not sure I get it. I really like this line--as a side-line. Cool pieces to add variety to your collection. I'm going to have to get that Rescuers piece. Now I hope they make Rescuers Down Under. Both of those movies were favorites of mine and my son.

I just hope that going forward they focus more on retro characters and Freddies, those are my favorites

I think they went too big too fast, I hope they do limit it more to retro characters and freddys of course, limited definitely gives it a better chance at lasting in my opnion

Was surprised to see that more are on the way, but not seeing much excitement for them now. The handful of freddy ones that I have are neat, but Im not sure I would continue collecting anymore than what I have considering how awkward they are to display.

Locally here at least the popular IP's seem to move, but a few of the less popular I keep seeing on discount sadly!

the VHS style display cases are pretty cool but I think are limited to smaller audience (millenials, people who grew up in the 90s), so it is hard to see Funko rewind having the longevity/legs to survive

I love the concept but this new generation doesn't even know what a VHS was or is so the age group they aimed is little

The only time I saw these were at the Funko booths. I haven't seen them at retailers.

Yah I agree, the packaging is very niche and appears to older people (say 30+ year olds) who grew up on VHS. Totally understand the nostalgia factor with it, but it has doesnt seem to have the longevity going for it.

It might be neat to see some newer IP's if they created a cool look for the VHS box that resembled a classic style, but that seems like it might be a lot to ask. I have seen some independent artists that do awesome work creating vintage boxes for new movies so that would be a really unique hook for the line.

Disney/Fox recently released Alien Romulus in VHS format to capture on the nostalgia, so there are definitely some rebooted/newer IPs that Funko can capture on the classic style if done properly in the right way.

I have never bought one, but I have a few friends who like them. I think the biggest problem is it’s the same characters as we get in pop for and soda form.

At the con they made it seem like they were all in and going to sell at a bunch of retailers but that didn't seem the case.

Was thinking the same, but maybe they had some type of licensing issue where they used the same figures .

I liked the idea but the figures weren't as creatively designed as the Soda counterparts.

Kind of a Catch-22 with the Retro Rewind line. Gotta start with the most popular characters to get the ball rolling and drum up interest, but people didn't find them interesting because it only featured popular characters. Personally, I think they looked too much like sodas and thats why they didn't really take off.

It's weird because some Rewinds are really hard to find on the aftermarket and the chases go for a lot. I was curious and was shocked to see that

Gotcha! I haven't purchased a lot in awhile, and the Retro Rewind was not how I wanted to get back into it.
