I really liked the Alice in Wonderland and TMNT black light Soda/Pops. By the way...still holding out hope we get another wave of TMNT black light POPS. We got what...Bebop, Rocksteady, and Casey Jones? Unless I missed some stuff. I would love a black light 4 pack of the turtles. All bright glowing green with their respective color.

Yeah, I didn’t really have any interest until I was lucky enough to get in to FunDays 2022, and two of the team prizes were black light Freddys. Those Pops were so good it basically turned me into a BL fan.

I know the feeling, I was there and I was so excited for those Black Light Freddy’s and the Mascots were straight :blob6:

It seems to Pop off (no pun intended) every so often. We had that push in the summer of 2024 that seems to spark some interest but I think the insanity of that hype from a few years ago is over. That's not to say, that creative and unique ones won't sell. But to see anything with blacklight on it sell, in my opinion that is over.

Funko definitely killed blacklight. I'm like 95% blacklight complete and will continue to purchase them but they don't excite me the way they used to.

Kraken by far had the best glow IMO but I was solely obsessed with the Buccaneer.

Seems like Funko can never do things in moderation. I remember when they came out with the Gold Chrome Vegeta and that was literally the must have pop of the year until everything got the chrome treatment and kind of killed it.

Yah I think they overdid it with the chrome line and applying it to every major franchise over and over again (i.e. DC/Batman, Star Wars/Boba Fett, Marvel/Thanos). They've definitely taken a more cautious approach lately with their Blacklight line and not trying to repeat the same mistake imo.

I nearly almost became a Kraken but it all worked out at the end and I became a Buccaneer.

As with anything Funko does, when it's popular... they tend to saturate the market. Then the at item dies somewhat... so yes...black light is dying.

i just think they should of did blacklight for characters that made sense (that alice example is great) when they deviate from that it kind of makes it feel cheaper albeit i do love how blacklight looks so it's tough for me. i kind of enjoy what others are sleeping on too ha.

Yeah, 100% agree it does take away from the appeal. But, yeah, I can't look at chrome pops anymore after they did the Marvel line.
