Are people still trading or just selling?

I see alot of for sell only post in the groups I'm in and was wondering if it's like that in the groups you guys or in .is it just the the of year Christmas or people getting out the hobby what do you think

Most been noticing people just selling, even at the local level.

I mean, logistically it is loads easier to sell and use the funds towards that.

I see a lot more selling since it’s probably easier to manage and then buy what you want. But once in a while I do see people trading

Closer to the holidays or evens aka SDCC you will see more selling than trading. Many collectors are either trying to get funds for the holidays or events. I've thought about getting out several times myself but I like my DC collection and just need a Green Arrow #15 to feel completed.

I'm thinking about selling a few grails to my local toy shop here! But they do pay more value if you trade in for store credit.

I'd say a good majority are selling but there are still trades taking place. You see it quite a bit (in the few groups I'm in) where folks do trade (or prefer to trade). It's usually the same folks but it's all good.

I see alot of selling really wish there were more people trading put you have to have what they want and most people want to trade up not down and sometimes they don't want to do a one for one that would be perfect I think especially with the same value but like I said people want to trade up hopefully with the limited pops there cam be more trades going on

I feel you it slowed down in my area in the bay, some local stores that did pop meets moved away and closed store or just stopped doing them I get it.

Also Southen California slowed down on meetups. I used to go to Boomloot on a Sunday and buy and look for stuff. Good times

Unlike NYC. New Jersey had a ton of meet ups. Dating back to 2018 and shortly after the Pandemic. Looking for a Funko Pop meet up in NY was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I've tried trading protos for production pieces, like a year ago I tried to trade protos for Spastik pieces and didnt get bites until a year later where I trade done plus cash for a bunch
I'd love to do more trading but locally it's just flippers with new stuff, not older stuff I'd want
I've been looking back at holes in my collection now that the market is cooling down and stuff like the Blue Bigfoot and Mothman are on my radar now to eventually trade or buy

Definitely noticed a lot more selling without any trade options. Probably no conventions/exclusives right now that people are looking for as well.
