That’s pretty good. In the past I’ve made some awful trades. Trades that often haunt me til this very day. #-o

We’ve all made these. Mine have mostly happened at Fundays. I don’t even want to think about a particular proto swap that I once made involving an Office Pop

Last fundays I traded a Michael myers for a zuko and it wasn't until that night I realized the gap in value

Yeah--that one's pretty brutal. I mean, I guess that's the downside of "collect what you like"--always a bit of regret on that. My Office issue was that I didn't realize what it was until AFTER the trade and I saw a fully painted version of it--couldn't tell from the mono-white of a proto.

Unfortunately, it’s a learning curve that we all have to go through. It sucks but we all do it, but I am happy with some of those if not most of the trades I’ve done, but I can say there are some trades that I regret to this day and do the Darth Vader no

I also traded an Anakin Freddy (non-glow, at least) for a Merlin.

Why?

I hadn't watched Clone Wars and was still a prequel-hater at the time.

:(

Glad to hear you changed your mind at least

Yeah with protos you can't identify best advice is try hard to figure out what it is. Bf at fright night knew he had an anime proto but didn't know what. Found out it was from jjk

That's happened to me too. I have to really think about it especially with con pops because some of those values drop hard so I never trade for that month

With cons pops I only trade for a pop I desperately desire. This way if the value drops it won’t bother me in any way.

TBH I didn’t really like any of the Michael Myers FF. The black light version looked so out of place.

I’m not that big into Star Wars but I clearly remember about 50 people asking me about the Freddy Anakin. So I feel ya.

But that sounds like such a project I get tired even thinking about it lol.

I like that rule, I have definitely cut back on buying as well. When I started collecting I would just buy any random pop. Couple years in started to downsize and focused on Freddy's and genres that I love. I have a basement that I remodeled to display my collection of Funkos and Legos.

It's always good to go through your collection every so often and determine what, if anything, is in need of a new home. I'm doing so right now and plan to "thin the herd" a little and reorganize my collection.

I also collect sports cards and definitely know a thing or two about needing to go through and purge some of the collection. My gf calls me a hoarder.

I'm coming up to that point. I don't even have that many but I felt better about it when I had fewer that meant more. Pretty much everything store bought is gonna go.

I need to go in and do a cleaning on my collection. I have so many pops that are in boxes or bags that I haven't been able to display since I have so many out already.

Have any of them been returned? That sucks that you take things to display/decorate for you students and they do that.

I’m currently sitting at 3764 pop and have been collecting since 2020, can’t lie I have slowed down majorly especially woth Hot topic and Box lunch making it harder to get any chases and Wlamartnim my area pop section being almost nonexistent. But I still go after most of the new anime pops and any new tv/movie inspired pops. LE also has kept me going even after the end of the NFT program. I haven’t given up on funko just have become more specific!

3764 is still pretty impresive. I hit the brakes 2 years ago when I stopped seeing pops that I collect. Although I’ve been seeing a surge lately. :D

I have sold a bunch of my signed Pops collection to a trusted autograph auction site and through third party platforms like eBay and Mercari. I had a bunch of non-signed Pops that I collected such as Marvel & DC pops but I had to sell them throughout the years because of space.

I really really need to cull my collection. It's been overgrown for years and I so rarely post one for sale they just sit in boxes.
Problem is I'm so into a bunch of franchises I don't know how I'd pick which ones to let go of except Spidey.
Nobody touches my Spideys so if I reduce down to just those I'd still be pretty happy but my others would be sorely missed.
I have a couple of shops near me so I'll start going around to see if any of them want to pay a little and hope I don't get lowballed too much.
More Spidey Pops? Yes please! :spiderman:

You have to at some point.

Your tastes or circumstances change and your collection will change with it.

I have some older Freddy and Freddy protos I need to price out and sell.

Not on display, no need to keep. The times, they are a changing.

I keep Pops that have sentimental value, then I narrow it down to complete sets of my favorite things. Get rid of one-off Pops that I thought were cool at the time. Dusty Pop box must go or I need to dust more, lol.

at one stage i had nearly 1000 pops in my small rooms and not just common ones but rather expensive ones from the before times. Before pops were as big as they are, But since then i slowly over time culled my collection and as i recently did i culled a good chunk off to the point that all i have now i maby 100 or so.

The pops i kept are ones i gotten signed or ones that were special gifts from friends or special events like FDO or SDCC. I might reduce a little more but now i have a situation where i have sudden wall space so i might start putting art up XD.

Trying to cut it down to con pops only.

I collect all things Game of Thrones and many other POP lines.
