Glowing Big Bang Characters?

Postby cdogthetrader » Sat Oct 05, 2013 7:18 pm

So i recently purchased a house and after hanging my bobbleheads up i happened to stumble upon one of my black lights. I was shining it around and noticed something a little weird. It seems as though the sheldon wobbler with the white superman shirt seems to glow where as the other sheldons do not react. The other one that seemed to glow fairly well was Raj's face. See the photos below. Sorry for the bad pictures i was trying to hold the light and take the picture. I just thought it was weird and wanted to share with you guys.

Is it because his face is paler? Idk since I don't have it.

Interesting! I have never put a black light in my Funko room, so I am not sure why they "glow"....could it be the paint was used by mistake at the factory?

Anyone else try using a black light on their Funko?

I only use regular light on my glow pieces and they glow pretty well. Of course most of my stuff is older Funko glow pieces too.

Well, I can't speak to why the black light makes it light up, but my white Superman t-shirt Sheldon did not glow in the dark. Stacey witnessed :D

Glowing under black light is different from glowing in the dark. Different materials/paints/pigments react differently under a black light. I have a couple toys where parts of a figure glow while the rest don't. It's kind of fun to shine a BL around a room and see what pops out at you. (Yes. I've done it.)

BTW: Same thing happens when I smile under a black light. Parts of me glow, the rest doesn't.
