how do you store your boxes?
I'm just curious as to how you guys store your boxes to take up the LEAST amount of space. Do you just stack them? Do you take out the plastic insert and fold the box down? I ask because I'm getting in to a storage bind, there are still dozens of figures I want to get coming out this year but I am running out of room for the boxes. byt taking the plastic inserts out I can fir 30 of them stacked on top of each other in 1 stack... I still have about 4 more stacks at that height to put in, but I think the boxes will probably all fit in 1 stack.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm working with about 12 cubic feet of space (6' wide, 1 foot deep, 2 feet tall)
Thanks in advance

Re: how do you store your boxes?
I know a few people do this if they dont like displaying the pops with boxes: You flatten the boxes and stack the inserts, marking them with who they match with.
For my boxes and inserts I don't use, I put them under my bed and in the closets.

Re: how do you store your boxes?
I tried taking out the inserts and flattening the boxes, but surprisingly enough I found it didn't save that much space.
When you take the inserts out and put them inside of each other, they are a lot longer due to the top and bottom being spread out.
I found I was able to store roughly 25% more boxes this way, in my opinion not really worth the hassle.
So what I do now is I simply box them up and put them under our bed with 2 boxes high. So far we've got 76 pops and it takes up less than 1/4 of the space under a queen size bed frame.

you're lucky... I have a twin bed so much smaller and when it comes to spaces really the top shelf in my closet is all I have, and I'll also have to be putting 2 more big boxes from Disneyland medium sized figures in there

This is what I do, i use the blue painter's tape to label the inserts. That tape doesn't leave a residue. I posted a pic of my boxes stacked in a living room closet in the display thread. I also have them flattened and stacked in an large plastic storage container.

You need a house with a room or attic you don't use.

Collect every Pop ever made 100 times over and keep each pop in box. Then use the boxes to build a house. You probably want the clear front facing inside to avoid sun damage. Ultimate space saver right there.

thanks, I ended up doing similar but up on the shelf...I put my 2 GOT figures under the rest of the boxes and the 3 holiday figures under the last stack of inserts, stacks of inserts are about 60 high. saved so much space with this that I was able to not only still have growing room but also got the boxes for my giant disney figures from the park up there and boxes for Disney LE dolls too

I have a giant box castle forming against a wall in my office, two rows deep and 3 columns high. My goal is to reach the ceiling.

I'm glad I ran into this post! I was just thinking about this earlier today when I was flattening out my boxes. I'm debating whether or not I should actually keep the plastic inserts.
In the end, is it worth keeping the inserts if they're just going to be stacked upon each other?

I'm only keeping them so that if some day down the line I ever decided to get rid of my collection I could put them all back in the boxes

Re: how do you store your boxes?
I actually use some in my display by laying them on their fronts on book shelves and making terraces for more figures to stand on. It actually looks kinda neat being able to see them behind my figures. Since I only use about 6 boxes across going across the shelf and line 9-11 figures on each terrace, I stack the rest in the closet of my guest bedroom. I probably still have enough room for 200+ boxes in that closet and I own over 430 Pop as it is now.

Yes, another old thread I'm resurrecting for a short time.
Do you find any type of tape that you can write on will work? This looks like maybe painting tape? Should I be in any fear of the tape falling off (that's why I ask if there are certain ones that work better than others.)? Obviously, my goal is to not smash any inserts by stacking, how much room does this actually save, for example, how many inserts do you estimate this box in the picture will hold, with the insert loosely stacked (not smashed on to the one below it
That should be enough info, thanks again guys for your expertise.

Re: how do you store your boxes?
the first 10ish or so, I flattened the boxes and took out the plastic and I put them in a jumbo ziploc bag and forced out as much air as possible and I threw the plastic away... now I regret that because of some of the using boxes as a riser pictures I saw made me want to do that but the boxes wouldn't be sturdy enough now.
so now I just lift the top or bottom plastic flap and pull the Pop out and shove the boxes against a wall until I find somewhere better to store them out of sight.

Re: how do you store your boxes?
I'm using some of my boxes as risers, too, and it does save some room. But my current method it saves half. Six Pop!s on three boxes. I'll flatten the other three boxes, but it's the inserts of the remains boxes I'm worried about crushing, or whatever else I could do to them.

Is it just me, or does it sound like you have the cleanest garbage/trash anywhere?

Re: how do you store your boxes?
My boxes are currently stacked up next to the shelves I have my Pops on, but eventually when I get different shelves on the wall, the boxes will go into my closet on the top shelf. I only have 35 Pops so I'm good, but I can't imagine what I will have to do when I have over 100 boxes to store, haha.

Currently I have my boxes in the corner of my room and in the closet. I'm debating whether or not I should actually keep the boxes for the non-exclusive ones.
