Whats your favorite/best place to buy?
Help a noob collector out and let me know where you go for your figures. Wallyworld and Targets in my area don't carry much so I've been mostly using online sources. What's best for you?
Hi, my name is Chris. Go easy, I'm a noob.

I definitely shop at Hot Topic the most (they often have BOGO 50% off, which helps bring down their price), but I also hit up Game Stop and Barnes&Noble regularly, sometimes I find some nice ones there.
I also shop amazon, but sometimes it's hit or miss with paint jobs/box condition, but luckily the return/exchange process has been pretty easy so far!

Mostly Barnes & Noble and Hot Topic. GameStop has been getting a lot better lately, too.

B&N, Target, Wal-Mart, and VidFall are my preferred destinations. I avoid Hot Topic if possible because their prices are about 25% higher than most places. However their selection is unbeatable as far as in store purchases are concerned.

Re: Whats your favorite/best place to buy?
I recently found about popcultcha.com.au because of this site. I did my first order recently and just got shipping confirmation today. They seem to have hard to find or exclusives here, without sticker but that really doesn't matter to me. Shipping can be bit high because of ordering international and can take a few weeks, but good site to get some pops you can find anywere else like Arrow Diggle! and island arrow! yeah cant wait for those 2 to get here!

Hot Topic for me, but mainly when they have good promos going on. B&N ships their boxes in great packaging these days. I think the yearly membership pays for itself easily. Toy wars has also made a boat load of money off me

Local:
Hot Topic during Hot Cash = $6.25/POP before tax. Plus it's the only place you can buy HT exclusives at retail anyway.
Barnes and Noble for everything else and when HT is not doing Hot Cash = $6.44/POP before tax after 20% weekend coupon and 10% Member Discount. As Hot Topic during BOGO is $9.38/POP before tax.
Alter Ego Comics and Golden Age - Best Selection, prices a little higher as they are smaller stores in comparison.
Online: I check everything, no real favorite.
Cons: Fugitive and Matt's Calvacade of Comics.

Re: Whats your favorite/best place to buy?
I like to go to BN for the normal Pops!. They have good prices and with the 10% membership discount and occasional additional 20% off = bonus!!!
I like to go to HT for the exclusive stuff and purchase when they have Hot Cash or BOGO 50% off.
I have had good experiences purchasing from Popcultcha, Fugitive, and ToyTokyo. The only downside to Popcultcha is that they are in Australia and getting your order takes weeks. Fugitive and ToyTokyo have some exclusives at okay prices but they always sell out, so I spend a lot of time checking their website for stock.
ebay is a last resort for me. There are a few sellers that I have favorited that are legit, good with shipping, and are honest about costs. I tend to go there for Pop! Asia vinyls.

Has anybody taken advantage of B&N's 20% online coupon code? It seems to be a code that constantly works. I tried it last night and got a couple orders in. It's discussed in the eye on the web section.

I used to go to my local Hastings, but they seem to have stopped ordering as many as they used to. Now I go with Hot Topic and Amazon.

Hot Topic (only BOGO and Hot cash) as well as Amazon. B&N online has a great selection as well, but the stores around me have a very limited selection.

Re: Whats your favorite/best place to buy?
I like Hot Topic, since I like the store overall and their BOGO usually helps bring the price of two Pops down to about the same as Barnes & Noble. HT also tends to carry more of the horror line and their exclusives are some of the best. Barnes & Noble is good for price, but my local one doesn't seem to get a lot of stock in or they always order the same ones, so I go in hoping for something new and it's usually the same 30, with a few new ones and that's it, kind of a bummer.
BAM is a good one price wise and they will have rare ones like Ace Venture or the Chase Spike I got there, so I always check that store. I've also ordered from Amazon a few times, and aside from a couple bad paint jobs, I can't complain much about them.
Game Stop is starting to up their game as far as quantity, but I've passed on many I've wanted because if knicks and scratches, so kind of a bummer.

Re: Whats your favorite/best place to buy?
I'm an OoB collector, so I'm a hug stickler for great paint jobs. The boxes can be whatever, but if the paint job is bad, I'm an unhappy camper. Because of this, I try my best to stay away from ordering online (unless it's an exclusive, obviously).
Hot Topic is a great place to hit up, mostly because they have the biggest collection and they tend to get new Pops before any other retailer. They also have great exclusives, and between their BOGO sales and Hot Cash, the price tag isn't terrible. GameStop isn't bad either, but I've found that my FYE has a Pop stock that rivals my Hot Topic. If anyone has an FYE in their area, I highly suggest checking them out. They've entered the Pop game and they're doing a very good job.
However, I get most of my Pops from Barnes and Noble. Their stock is inconsistent, they tend to get new Pops last (GameStop, HT, and FYE all have Black Widow, but B&N still doesn't), and their selection isn't huge, but the fact of the matter is that their Pops are cheaper than anywhere else. I never NEED a Pop right away, so I'm willing to wait a while if it means saving me three or four bucks.
However, if anyone lives in central Indiana, my all-time favorite place to buy Pops is at Kokomo Toys. They have an entire wall dedicated to new, popular, and hard-to-find Pops, and they're even less expensive than Barnes and Noble (on top of that, if you're a toy collector in general, this place will make your eyes pop out of their sockets). I know only a few people on this site who would ever be able to go, but it's well worth it.

Hot Topic online
Amazon especially if you have prime $16 for 2 pops and they get to you in 2 days
B&N with their $25 free shipping so I usually do my usually 3-4 haul from there
