Initial D pops?

Anybody else want initial D pops? I recently started rewatching after a long time and now I obsessed again lol

I totally want an AE86 pop ride.

I think it would be cool, but I don't think there would be a big market for it. There's not much hype around Initial D anymore.

Unfortunately I would have to agree also. Would love to have pops for this, but I have a feeling Funko would lose $ if they made it

Anime seems to still be very popular in the US, but I'm not sure about Initial D specifically. I could prob do very well in Japan though.

I agree that anime is still very popular in the US, but Initial D peaked 10+ years ago when everyone was into drifting. Same time when Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift brought the drift scene into the limelight.

This would be amazing but unfortunately agreeing with everyone else that this would not do too well. I think it would be awesome if they did it as part of the Pop! Asia line and kept it exclusively to Japan.

That's a good idea. It's not too tough to import if you're outside the region and it'd sell much better there.

I'd totally buy the full line of em. I loved that anime and blew way too many paychecks at the arcade playing the games lol

As much as I love the show I am not sure what kind of audience it would have for merch. I still have a full set of the die-casts that came out but whenever I cosplay Takumi at conventions (White Shirt, Blue Jeats) no one recognizes me unless I am standing next to a tofu-car.

1000% agree with everyone!! An AE86 Pop! Ride would be fire but sadly it would probably have to be badgeless due to additional licensing required for Toyota. Also people wouldn’t know what it is and would very likely say “Why did Funko make a Corolla Pop Ride?” or “What’s a Trueno?”

Definitely think it's a much smaller audience for this now but as a car guy it's stuck with me all these years. If funko could get auto licenses for Toyota, Nissan and Subaru the pop rides would be epic for initial D. Funko has surprised us with older stuff so I'm just wishing lol

Loved Inital D... Not really for the anime but for the music. Love Eurobeat, favourite genre used in Bemani games. Which lead me to my favouritr music game... ParaParaParadise.

The one big mistake of Tokyo Druft is the lack of Eurobeat.

I don't think real life cars are totally within the realm of possibility, the recently released James Bond's Aston Martin

wonder if there would be difficulty more along security the license of the car manufacturers more so than the anime itself. I mean they got past some of that by calling them by their "street" names for a while. AE86, FD, FC, R32, and etc.
