Astro Boy Hikari, EE Exclusives WTH??
Okay so Entertainment Earth just got their second exclusive Astro Boy Hikari, awesome I know right??
Riddle me this..........
The NVS version is limited to 750 and costs $49.99
The Metal Mix is limited to 1000 and costs $79.99
I'm not the smartest person in the world, but something isn't adding up there???

I remember reading that price depends on the treatment. Not sure if that's the case here, or if I'm just imagining reading that completely.

That would make sense, it seems that a lot more work went into Metal than it did NVS.

I find it weird as well. I'm also glad that I've preferred the $49 pieces to the $80 ones. Something tells me that won't be the case for when Groot is released

Same thing with the Stay Puft's but I think it's because they are wider

The Stay Puft is listed as "Premium". It's taller and bigger I think. Same with Spiderman

Re: Astro Boy Hikari, EE Exclusives WTH??
I asked this in the "FRANKENSTEIN HIKARI!!!" thread, there are several Hikari listed as "Premium" and not exclusive to a single retailer that are all at the $80 price point with absolutely no explanation provided.

I heard back from Entertainment Earth
Entertainment Earth wrote:The price points for these items were provided to Entertainment Earth by Funko. It is possible that despite the fact that the Metal Mix exclusive has a larger edition, perhaps it is harder to manufacture the item, or the composition materials are more expensive… so the price is higher as a result.

That's correct. Certain colorways like the distressed and metal mix cost Funko more and carry a $79.99 MSRP. This is unrelated to the $79.99 of the 8" super-sizes Hikari.

Costs more, but doesn't last as long. Lose lose if you ask me.
