Did anyone elses HT move their Pop section to the back of the store? We have 2 locations in my city and they both did. It's awful because there's almost no room to get back there. So if more than one or two people are browsing through them it's just a nightmare. That, and my HTs really haven't had anything new or exciting for a while. My Chemical Romance (ugh) and a bunch of anime stuff I've never heard of is it lately

Yeah, it's a bit stupid. The reasoning behind it is that customers have to walk through the entire store, will see all the product, and decide to buy more.
No, no, no. I walk to the back of the store, ignore everything else, find the Pop!s I want, and walk back to the front to pay. It doesn't matter where you put my desired product, I'm not going to buy the rest of the store.

The ones that I frequent moved the Pops to the back right after Funko was sold to the company that owns the Spencer stores. (I need an emoji for "throwing shade" here.)

Happened to both of mine. It's so you can buy more stuff typically. They haven't had anything new, was able to get a new batman and wonder woman though.

Mine not only moved it to the back but also now sporadically places pops, including exclusives around the store so you literally have to look everywhere to make sure you aren't missing something great

mine has taken to hanging pops on strings from the ceiling throughout the store so that they hit you in the face as you browse

Mine has the same space. and used the front window.

The are in the back is easier to navigate in my store.

Lol- I assumed Pops got moved to the back of Hot Topic to cut down on stealing. I used to work a mall retail job and had to worry about that back then. Every time I used to go into Hot Tooic, I always thought, "Thats gotta be really hard to always keep an eye on when they're displayed so close to the exit. I'd hate to have that job."

...but making people walk last everything else so they potentially buy more makes more sense really.

The past 2 times I have been at the mall and wanted to go into HT, it's been too packed. The Pops used to be on the wall to the left when you got inside the door, now they're on the back wall. I walked all the way back, didn't see anything I liked, but was stuck because people literally boxed me in trying to look at Pops. Besides that with the being on the back wall and no room for a line, the whole place just feels overcrowded and I just avoid. Unless it's a HT exclusive I missed online, I'll stick to B&N and other cheaper outlets to continue buying mine. Hot Cash is nice, but here lately even that sucked due to store selections being wiped and online barely ever updating until Hot Cash is over.

I have seen employees put the Pops that they want either under the cash register or hiding them behind others on the very top shelf, where you obviously can't see them. Why have a store with things to buy if the employees hide what people are looking for? I've seen it happen a ton. It happened for SDCC, NYCC and when Super Stan and US Agent were released. Not to mention the flippers who openly admit to wiping entire stock of certain Pops and wait outside the door before they open. Loose policies and shady employees take me away from dealing with HT. I at least feel like it's an open opportunity at the other outlets I go to to buy Pops. I'll put it like this, I've actually found a Chase at B&N, I never dreamed of finding one at HT, where the employees openly admit to taking them. Seems rigged and I wish that it was a better ratio to make both the outrageous inflated values drop and to help the people that actually want them get them over flippers. Drop the value and flippers lose interest. We should look at value as a long term thing and not the whole it dropped today, lets charge $500 for these on Ebay!

I was at a Gamestop and one of the employees said "I am surprised we still have that one, we usually have four go out when they come in to employees." I about lost it right there in the store, if it wasn't for me finding several Pops at that store that I haven't seen anywhere else I would have.

Let's not divulge into GameStop and employees taking advantage there, hasn't the Black Friday fiasco spoken enough for them?

Maybe my problem is just people that are employed by these places taking advantage of customers and the shipments that come in. Sure, throw one of each your way, but to wipe everything out before it even hits the floor seems pretty bad for business as far as Funko collectors go.

We could go all day over these things, but will it fix the problems, more than likely not.

I heard two theories about this from two different store managers.

1) HT decided to push pops to back to get customers to see all the other things in the store to entice them to stop and buy those things before they hit the pop wall. Just in case pop were to ever exit the Hot Topic stores.

2)HT moved pops to back to create space in store and to make them the center of attention for all customers.

I dunno. I suppose its a tad bit of both? I do enjoy the space that was created because I can now step back and glance at the wall with ease. But I really despise how tall the wall is. If I wanted something on top shelf (usually hikari, or dorbz) I would have to ask for assistance every time.

They moved the pops to the back wall of mine too but it's impossible to get to. It's right next to the checkout counter and a support beam, for lack of a better word. It goes from floor to ceiling and they display bags and other stuff on it from time to time. But anyway...

There's literally 2 ft between the counter and the pop shelves. :/ so if more than one person is looking at them, it's next to impossible to see them all. but it's impossible to see them all anyway since you can't stand back all that much. Not to mention you actually have to go all the way into the store cause it's hidden behind the beam from just about everywhere in the store.

I'm not going to lie, Hot Topic gives me serious anxiety. It's so dark and crowded, I really can't stand shopping there. Which sucks, because they have the exclusives I want the most. I'm going to one tomorrow and I really hope they have what I'm looking for so I don't have to keep going back!

It's nice though for accelerated degrees, and on paper they are identical to any employer when compared to students who went on-site for their learning.

Just saw this from my local HT. A manager mentioned that all HT stores are going from BOGO50 to BOGO30. I'm not sure if she meant all Hawaii stores or all stores nationwide. Anyone else know anything about this?

I have not heard of the BOGO30 but my local HT (Outlet Mall Store) has them buy 2 get one free!
