Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
Well struck out at my Target yesterday. Showed 12/10 in stock on brickseek. Gave the employee at customer service the dpci and she said they weren’t in the system yet.
Does anyone have the item/bar code at all? Or can take a picture of it. Maybe having them scan it would be better.

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
So my last chance came and went. Apparently no target in my area, total of 7, received any exclusives at all. That is very poor distribution. Funko might as well made these a chase, but then again, chases are easier to find.

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
So my target still doesn't even have this so called dedicated Funko pop section. Some are still in games, others are spread out amongst the toy isles.. Does that new section not apply to super targets or something?
When I find Planet X I'm going to name it Bison

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
So I called all 10 or so targets in my area, and checked a few that had high brickseek numbers. Many stores got 2 cases with no exclusives. There were 2 stores left that got a shipment in today, so I drove the 25 minutes to check them out first thing this morning (BTW props to min-Mega for waking me up at 7 AM today
) I was the first person in the store and scored batman and joker! I was stoked, so I decided to try the other store not too far away while I was close. Here's where the story gets interesting...
Walked in the other store around 8:10 AM went to electronics and there was an employee holding and staring at the joker exclusive. I walked up and stated "perfect timing! That's just what I'm looking for!" The guy looks at me, looks back at the pop says "hold on" picks up his phone (which he wasn't on when I walked up and was hanging on his belt) and says "which ones are you looking for? Ok, Ok I'll hold them, just picked them up at electronics desk." I ask what's going on and he says he's holding them for someone. I grab the other batman and walk away to check the pop display and another guy walks up and starts questioning the employee on how he is holding the pops when no other stores will hold them for him. I walk back over to see what going on, employee takes the 2 pops and walks away. Other guy says, "he's supposed to call some other stores for me (which I had already done yesterday and no other stores have them), but he just walked away". I was like "weird".
Did some other shopping and then went up front to ask the manager what their policy is on holding stuff. She asked what's going on so I explain it to her and we walk back to electronics where the guy is still arguing with the employee. Manager says..."well I don't know how they do things here (meaning electronics), but we will hold items depending on what it is". I'm thinking "huh, self...doesn't the manager run the entire store?" Both employees have a private conversation and decide they won't sell the items (me and the other guy decided we'd each take one if they'd sell 'em).
I told the manager that there has to be some semblance and continuity on how they sell HTF exclusives like this. I could easily see this same situation going bad quickly. Yes, I wasn't too upset because I already scored them...but still this is getting crazy! The other guy was pretty miffed.
Was the employee holding these for himself or a friend? Should a customer in the store take priority over someone calling all the stores for them to hold the pops? The world may never know...

I'm not entirely sure how it works at Target, but most stores have a Store Manager who is at the very top, then other managers who fall beneath them. There might be an ETG Manager/Lead and then one for the regular salesfloor and one for grocery or something. But this whole story seems kind of sketch

It's so crazy that this one is so hard to find though. I wonder if Funko's "extremely limited" wording had anything to do with it or not. I've mostly given up on finding him in store since my Target doesn't always get exclusives like this.

Anyone remember the fervor over target's unmasked batman at first a few years ago? I'm hoping that's the case again and it leads to an eventual catch up as I've been too lazy to go hunt

Here's a pretty good one from an eBay auction:

Or FN-2187, I remember seeing them going for 50-60 on eBay right after they came out too. They later settled around 20 and have been there for months.

Only bad thing with this one is that this exclusive was not even mentioned. If it weren't for the Cali target putting them out early then it would have been a complete surprise. Makes me think they are going to be hard to come by.

Thank you! Looks like the quantity on brickseek changed at my Target. They must have put them out this morning. Damn, I'm probably too late.

Would anyone mind explaining to me how Popcultcha works... how are they able to mass produce and sell items that are exclusive or limited in the US?

They are the Australian distributor for Funko. Items are only EXCLUSIVE to stores in the USA. Not exclusive to the country USA. This is why we see re-prints of stuff in Asia or HT and Target exclusives in Australia.
Amen to that. It is the one place i struggle at more than anything. Im fine at walmart and even walgreens but Target is NO BUENO.

Thanks for the explanation! So PC can sell as much as they want of Pops that are exclusive or limited here? Interesting...
Are there ever cases where PC isn't allowed to sell an exclusive or do they pretty much get everything?

Glad I was able to get them today. Too bad I couldn't get Joker as well, as the employee (manager) will only sell 1 exclusive per customer (which is fair IMO).

Just based on my own personal observations, it seems like limited exclusives are also released in limited numbers overseas. PC posts new items late into the night here (which I'm sure is during working hours over there) and in the case of HTF exclusives they are usually sold out by the time I wake up (before 6 am). Sometimes they restock and sometimes they don't, but by all appearances they don't get an abundant supply of them there either.
valorandvellum wrote:Are there ever cases where PC isn't allowed to sell an exclusive or do they pretty much get everything?
They usually do get them. It seems like there have been a few that they didn't get, although if you pressed me to name them I'm not sure I could. Some really surprised me, like metallic Voltron. The story was that the person responsible for that one was an ex-Funko employee that called in a favor, so it sounded like it was going to be very limited and only sold at the con and by the one vendor. Then -poof-, there it is on PC.

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
Thanks for the great info, treswright! Yeah, I saw that in the Voltron thread and was pretty surprised since it seemed like it was supposed to be a very limited exclusive for AE. I guess the only difference would be if it gets a sticker or not. Do stickers even add much value? Maybe people just like to know in their hearts that it was distributed from the US and not overseas? Haha

Some people are definitely very into the stickers. I'm not one of them so I don't think twice about ordering exclusives from PC. In another thread we were talking about a TRU exclusive that a few of us ordered online from TRU, one person was really disappointed that it arrived without a sticker and even asked others if it should have one because if so, he was thinking about trying to exchange it. So yeah, even in some cases where people know it came from the US vendor they still want that sticker on there. And hey, there's nothing at all wrong with that. I display mine OOB so that's probably why I don't care much about the stickers or even the box quality.
As far as the sticker adding value, that is a very good question. Some people just won't buy an exclusive unless it has the sticker, so I would guess that sticker=more bidders=higher resale, but I'm not sure.

I guess I would probably fall in the camp of wanting the sticker but only because I like to feel special. Not because I plan on reselling. Also, I like stickers

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
Well the Funko Gods did well to me today! Little story I have...
So I decided to drive up to Target after work today again to give it another chance. As I was walking into the new Funko section, I saw an employee just finish opening boxes for a gentleman and putting the POP!s on display. I could already see the man had 2 POP!s in his hand and immediately thought to myself am I really going to watch myself miss out on these.
I walked over next to the man while the employee was walking away and started searching. I saw right away the exclusive Joker sitting in front and grabbed him. I moved some of the POP!s around blocking others and there he was hiding behind and under 2 POP!s, the Batman! I grabbed him and then looked at the gentleman next to me with a kind of an confusing smile. He chuckled and started saying to me "nice we both got one I just made them go out back and unbox these guys and they only got 2 in". Come to find out he grabbed the Batman and a Dementor POP!
We talked a bit more and he told me he was shopping for a buddy of his since they don't have Target's in his state and how pumped he was to find it. He also was telling me that the employee that was unboxing them told him how he was coming back after he got off his shift to buy the exclusives and that he tried to hide the Batman where I found it behind and under a few POP!s
Long story short, that guy was the man for not buying both Batman and the Joker. And sucks for that employee

I've called about 20 targets. Most of them claim they never got them. The others say they only got one. I've gone to about 5 targets and no luck finding them. Hopefully they re stock them.

Alot of stores are just receiving a single case of 6 commons to begin with it seems. Thats how it is working in WA. Another shipment is to come containin the case with the exclusives. However, I am being told by both my local targets that people have been calling them off the hook for more info and stock checks. Meaning, I will have zero luck beating those people. I will continue to stop by the Targets near me when I get opportunities, but at 37 I don't have the patience to call around the clock, check stock levels, and swing in every day. Hats off to those that put in the work though. If you are doing that you earned it.

That's what he gets for trying to hide it. I've seen people come into my store and they'll move any exclusives to the back for some reason? Granted our pops don't move very fast but don't hide them? I wait until they leave and go "clean the pop display" and just put them back to the front. We've only got some leftover exclusives though and I'm not sure there are still any left anyway. It was mostly glitter hair Joy and Deerstalker Sherlock.
I'm happy that collectors are finding these too! At least some of us are getting them in the wild.

I lucked out today and found two Batman's and a joker. Showed up at 8:10 only to be there for 45 mins while they looked and said they can't find anything. About an hour after I get back to work I check and they are now down 3 on the quantity. I call them up and electronics says oh yea we just found them and we have 2 Batman's and a joker, but I can't hold any because the manager said. Well lucky for me the manager had actually seen me when I went and at first said he wouldn't hold any because it was first come first serve. After talking a bit and telling him that I actually would have been the first one to get them he went ahead and held a Batman and joker. Rushed over and was able to get the other Batman for a fellow local member as well. Guess a little persistence paid off this time.

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
I stopped by target again today because I had to pick up my HT online order and I pass it on the way home. No luck but the SS pops are selling so hopefully that means a restock soon. But they did have in the new Secret Life of Pets pops in. 6 on the shelf and 3 of them were the exclusive Insane Snowball. So awesome distribution of those
I took a picture of the bottom of the box too

That being said, this distribution is garbage. I should have both of these by now
Yeah, how is it possible for a Target employee to not be able to snag these? LOL

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
I swung by a location a few minutes prior to 8AM. I walked up and a few folks that were waiting in their car came up behind me. They confirmed they were there for the same thing, and I told them I saw them waiting and I wasn't there to clean out the shelf etc. There were 12 showing in stock over-night on Brickseek, and there were 4 Batmans and 2 Jokers. I took 2 Batmans and a Joker, and the other couple grabbed a Batman and Joker.
The only advise I can give is use Brickseek, show up early if your schedule allows, and don't bother going to a store that shows less than 10-12 in stock. Our whole area got them in stock and within a few hours Brickseek showed all inventory dropping down.

Would be kind of crazy if they get a restock of these after all this craziness the first 3 days.

Re: Zur En Arrh Batman (Target)
I'll be going to Target in like an hour. If I need to keep an eye out for anything else besides Batman, let me know
