I've heard the Prince Adam name thing, too (and I would definitely buy a pop of human Beast, because he made my little girl heart go pitter-patter when I was little), but I don't understand how he's a prince and not a king at the end of the movie. When he was cursed as a beast when he was younger, sure, because maybe his parents, the king and queen, were alive and somewhere else, but they've got to be almost certainly dead by the end, since they weren't turned into inanimate objects.
Was he only ruler of a principality, and not a kingdom? Why does Disney hate girls becoming queens (except just in the past few years with Elsa, who still had to share screen time with the more Disney-acceptable princess Anna), the only female royalty position with any real power? These are the questions we should be asking.
