I had an extremely successful Force Friday. I managed to get everything I wanted to buy today. I went to Walmart, Target, and Hot Topic in the morning, in that order. Walmart was packed full of Rogue One merch. It looked like I was the first person to check out the displays. Nothing had sold yet. They had a massive display packed full of the Pops. Plenty of Saw, no stickers. No chrome Death Troopers. I bought commons of Jyn Erso, Scarif Stormtrooper, Death Trooper, and C2-B5. Also got all of the figures I wanted too, 3.75" of Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, and Ahsoka Tano. I originally was planning on focusing on exclusives for Force Friday, but over time I decided to take care of most of my common purchases right away and get them over with. It was like a ghost town the entire time I was there.
At Target they had most of the merch still there. I could tell only a couple of items had been taken here and there. Nothing sold out. There was one other guy there looking at the Rogue One stuff. He was only interested in the vehicles. They had a very small selection of Pops, just a few Target exclusive Jyns and a few commons. No exclusive Andor. I just bought the best looking Jyn, the #1 item I wanted today. I was extremely happy to find one. I wasn't optimistic I would. It's the first Target exclusive Pop I've ever bought.
At Hot Topic they had 4 of their exclusive Jyn Erso and a few commons. I just bought one of the Jyns. The cashier told me they were having a buy 2 get 1 free promotion on all SW Pops, but since I had already bought all of the Pops I wanted to buy for the day, I passed and just got the one Pop. I didn't lose much money, considering the big price gap between Walmart and Hot Topic. While at the mall I checked B&N just for the heck of it. No Rogue One merch, with the exception of the Empire magazine.
In the evening I went back to Walmart to buy groceries, and there was still very little missing. Only a few items had sold here and there since I was last there, a few of the 3.75" figures and a few Pops. The 6" were still untouched. It's strange how Walmart had a huge amount of the titanium vehicles last year, but none this year. Target had a small number of them. Clearly most people skipped Force Friday this year. Such a huge difference from one year to the next. Last year Walmart and Target looked like they had been hit by a hurricane. There was barely anything good left to buy when I checked in the afternoon. This year I could have anything I wanted. They were packed to the gills. For me it was the best Force Friday ever.
