The funny part is that they were pretty close to the actual feel of the Fantastic Four comics in the first movie. If the portrayals of Sue Storm and Dr. Doom weren't so horrific they might have actually had something there. Fortunately they did fail so we got Chris Evans as Captain America. I will attempt to pretend that the last abomination put out by Fox never happened.

I know I watched that movie, but I don't think I paid attention to it at all because I don't remember it.

Maybe that's my way of dealing with the trauma and I've just completely blocked it out.

Might I suggest you don't try to recover those memories? it will be better this way.

It will be a lot easier now that it isn't in the daily rotation on the movie channel. As an aside, Miles Teller has a face that makes me want to punch it any time I see it.

I normally would go for wall punching in that instance, glass shards are very hard to get out of your hand.

This might be a crazy suggestion but you could just not punch anything. If they make a pop though I am buying 20 of them and placing them everywhere so you never stop seeing them.

It is funny that you say that about them making pops of the abomination because I was just thinking about how I refused to buy ny of the Logan pops because I hated Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Not his fault but just really awful casting for that character. Then again just about everything that Fox did with the Marvel licenses was pretty awful.

I really liked his version of the character, I wish he really didn't age so he could keep playing Wolverine! In general, I have to agree though, Fox needed an intervention. One thing that saved Deadpool is they made fun of Fox for that reason.

I think the fan reaction to the leaked test footage got Fox to allow them to do the first movie the way they wanted to. Then Fox saw the money the property could generate and got more involved and Deadpool 2 really suffered for it. Jackman as Wolverine probably wouldn't bother me as much if Fox hadn't decided that the entire franchise should revolve around him, but he is hardly the worst casting they did in that series.

I am worried about Dark Pheonix, I am not in love with the actress playing her. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I'm pretty sure it is going to be bad because Simon Kinsberg has never cared about the source material and will take a story that is supposed to be about Scott and Jean and shift the focus to Magneto and Mystique. The fact that Sophie Turner is not a good actress doesn't help either. I'm sure the special effects will be good though and for some people that is enough.

I am okay if they part from the source material, I don't care about that. As long as you tell me a story that I enjoyed. However calling it Dark Pheonix kinda implies it should be about Jean and Scott, so that would be a big misstep. Then we will have to bury it with the most recent Fantastic Four movie.

The whole truth, right here.

Also since the comics have started up again, they could do comic versions to help push book sales too.

I must be the only person who actually liked both movies. I admit they aren’t as good as the MCU movies, but I liked them purely for entertainment. I hope Disney makes it justice.

I’m with you man. I enjoyed the first two. I would’ve liked Dr. Dooms back story to follow more closely to the comics but I thought the movies were good.

I just watched them just to watch them. I’m not a hardcore comic book reader to be too critical about a movie.

I liked them as well, I enjoyed the cheesy humor and Easter Eggs. Would've loved to see more of an origin story for all of the characters, especially Doom. Also, wish that we actually got a glimpse of Glactus! Holding out hope that Disney will give the fans what they've been longing for now that they have the rights for all the properties that Fox was controlling...

Honestly it’s boggled my mind over the past few years why we haven’t gotten one yet. So many less deserving characters have been chromed and the mold has been around for years so I really have no clue. Hopefully someday [-o<

Now I’m kind of glad they didn’t do an origin story on Von Doom originally. It all played out the way it did and the franchise is back in the right hands. Now I just pray that marvel dies him right and gives him the movie he deserves? All hail Dooooom!!

Agreed although the first movie Doom wasn’t terrible, the last one was ridiculously bad and I for one can’t wait to see what Marvel does with the FF and Doom. I would love to see them eventually do the Secret Wars storyline, which would be a great way to show how big of a villain he really is. Marvel will most definitely do him justice when his time comes

Not sure, found it scouring the web for an image, lol. Found the post on comicvine.com, no mentions of the artists, though.

Totally agree with you here, Matt. As a big Iron Man / Tony Stark fan, I was holding out hope that I’d get to see Stark vs. Von Doom some day. Unfortunately for me, that won’t happen on the big screen in the MCU.

It’s hard to say for sure but I’d put my best guess on Jack Kirby. He was responsible for most of the epic Von Doom artistry. This looks like it’s right up his alley with how the shading is done.

Agree with this sentiment. The first one I felt was pretty good. There were little things that didn’t fit right, but for the most part I thought it was a good movie. The most recent FF was total trash. They made Doom look like a homeless robot. A secret wars series of movies would be MIND BLOWING. I’d love to see God Emperor Doom!!
