Example, I want to be sure we get all 4 TMNT Turtles and not just 2 random ones left in limbo like Vynl Booberry. The randomness of Vynl was fun but so many obvious omissions after the line faded away. I can only assume the randomness of the releases helped fuel the lack interest/decline.
As long as they sell through I am all for the higher piece count. A lower number only serves to create artificial scarcity, I'd rather see a few more out there in people's hands to give this line some real traction to stick around for a while. Me owning 1 of only 2,500 doesn't really do much for me, especially if the line fades away after just a year or 2...
This is a great point you make.
I like limited count pieces; but at the same time, I understand that making bigger counts will keep more people interested. I like the route they are going making the really popular characters widely available. The chases already fulfill the LE piece counts some collectors prefer.
I definitely like the direction they are going with the SODAs.
