First this is my opinion .. may be the opinion of others as well but I speak for myself alone.

There is no double standard that you are implying.

It is NOT OK for ANYONE to try to buy 18 BOF's when they show up alone to this event and expect to fill bags of items that real collectors deserve a chance at winning something.

It is NOT OK on several aspects.
The first being when there is a limited amount to go around.
The second being because people who are there to genuinely have fun and be part of our community. They earn the right to attend this event not just because they paid the admission price to get in.
The third being that these BOF's are for people quite possibly in our community that also deserve a chance to get one.
The fourth being no one that is a real Funatic, or part of the Funko community uses the kindness of Brian and everyone at Funko to serve there own agenda.
Finally this is not an event for people to make a profit on it's about fun, sharing our excitement, Funko giving back to it's true collector's, and the friendship we all have for each other. Regardless of whether you are on these boards or not, there are plenty of people that are part of the Funko community that rarely or never come on these boards.

When someone attends the Con and is walking around with there significant other all week then get to Fundays and there significant other can't make it for whatever reason that's not the same thing.

You may think it is the same as a flipper trying to buy 18 or 8 BOF's .. but respectfully your wrong.

If someone wants to start a business that's great.
Get a business licence .. open a store .. pay taxes.
Stop trying to rip good people off just because they want something they collect.
Don't take advantage of the fact that everyone can't attend.

Playing the devil's advocate is as dangerous as playing with a loaded gun.
Be careful it could go off in your face.

Now excuse me but I have a countdown picture to decide on for today.

FYI the person that bought all those tickets last year did not get all his BOF so feel free to waste your money and buy as many as you want :roflmao:

Those ST/BBT Pops look fantastic! I definitely want to snag one or 2 off Gemini, but I don't think I can afford the entire set. The Metallic Red Hulk looks great, too. I wasn't planning on buying him, but he is very tempting now that I see the picture.

The worst thing about the leaks is that now I want to buy more than I originally intended. Very sneaky, Funko... very, very sneaky...

My question was regards to Collectors. Maybe this is a better question. Is it possible to receive more than one BoF through means that are not considered shady? As it would appear, people have done so in the past.

Raffle tickets? Random giveaways?

As far as I know, not by the two ways you have mentioned.

Gemini sold BOFs last year. Other than that, I'm pretty sure the only way you get one is with your admission. If you bought two tickets, you got two BOFs.

If I remember correctly...which I probably don't...when the 1/96 Freddys first went up, they were $75 each. The 1/12 Freddys were $250. I think the BOF was $210. When the BOF first went up, you got 3 mystery Freddys. After a while, the prices went down, and they told you which Freddys were in the BOF.

Again, just what I remember, but I could be wrong.

I remember when the BOF were $150-160, Gemini told you which Freddy's you were buying in the BOF.

In the past , Yes. You used to be able to buy 4 passes to Funday per person. So many collectors (myself included) would purchase 4 passes to make sure we had a better chance at getting all of the exclusives. Some years this worked better than others. With the doubles, I typically gave away most of mine on the board (sent quite a few to australia and collectors in different countries) and sold a few as well. I do not believe that anybody has considered this to be shady.
Last year we had a guy buy passes for 3 of his friends and each one bought 3 additional so each person in the group of 4 were to receive 4 BOFs, so pretty much 16 boxes to one person, now that is a little shady in my opinion.
This year seems to be a bit different.

I just got an email from uglydoll....not sure if I can upload the picture on my iPad, but the last little chunk of a photo looks like it is a funko box with one of the new hello kitty's flocked. So I guess that means the new vinyl flocked clues are referring to theses?

I hate to be the impatient guy, but has anyone gotten the email from gemini yet about this week? Trying to plan out my vacation and not sure if I should be prepared to stalk all day thur, fri, and sat, sun. Again I am sorry if this has been brought up, just my first year and my wife keeps asking me if its going to be all of those days all day long. I'm also really excited and that doesn't help.

I've been patiently waiting for the announcement as well. I need to know so I can plan accordingly.
From what I've gathered off post and a few members, last year it started on the first day of SDCC around noon. Which is what I've planned around. Hopefully it'll be the same this year.

Mashups can be interesting but I've never been a fan of the ones they usually do for HK like Uglydolls and Kiss. Mashups can keep people from buying something if they don't like part of the mashup. I would be interested in these exclusives if these were just HK.

Marie, this has been really bugging me and I didn't know why. It finally dawned on me tonight that we are talking about two different things. There is a Pink Flocked Hello Kitty that will be at both the Funko Booth and at booth #4537. I think this is what the SDCC exclusive is going to be in Pink and 4 other colors. Not the mash up that is at Booth # 3245. Thankfully we only have a few more days to find out.
